Alcalá is a more a small town located on the coast than a holiday resort although there is a huge expensive hotel on the north side. Having said that there is a good selection of very moderately priced restaurants and bars in the town. Good bus connections up and down the west coast of Tenerife
All in all we were very happy. Staff did what they could, but only very few spoke English. Language is very important and I want to recommend that the staff can. Speak English. We missed the spa for 4days, thay was a bit disappointed because we the spa was the reason we chosed this resort. Then sadly too late we found out it was closed most of the time we stayed there.
Alcala is a lovely quiet resort with a variety of restaurants set around a bay. It is a small town which is easy to walk around with friendly locals. We ate in most of the restaurants which offer a reasonable choice on the menu at decent prices.
For us Alcalá was nestled nicely on the coast within walking distance of Los Gigantees, and Fonsalia which we visited a couple of times during our stay. It was easy to jump on a bus to Los Cristianos and go exploring around there too. An excursion company we used to see Mt Teide did pick up and drop off from the hotel, would recommend go up to see the volcano, the our cable car ride up was cancelled due to weather, so you would need to keep an eye on that. Other than that the experience was great. Food wise, we ate mainly at the hotel, it was great so much selection, we so families and groups of varying ages and sizes, some with Kids and without, certainly enough choice to cater for the whole family. We especially loved The Pangea and Oassis
We ate at in the apartment so no comment on the restaurants. Not a very exciting place and nothing for young couples, but everything is in walking distance and buses seem to be frequent. we liked the beach and there was 1 good beach for swimming
Alcala is a beautiful, unspoilt village on the south coast. It had all the facilities we needed, remains predominantly for locals but with a mix of French, German & British residents & visitors. You can swim in the sea from the village beach or nearby black sand beaches. The village square is a popular location for quiet bars & restaurants. There are numerous shops, including a large supermarket, and a small bakery for excellent cakes. It is nothing like the holiday resorts along the coast of Tenerife South. Alcala is not the place for visitors looking for a lively, loud holiday or English food & drink.
Rok Plaza is a Beautiful, spotlessly clean, apartment close to the sea front, very comfortable bed for a peaceful stay. We had a nice balcony overlooking the plaza. Lovely coastal walks in Alcala. Kathy and Marie Sol are excellent hosts and responded promptly to any queries we had during our stay. They are both so helpful and so professional. We are looking forward to our next stay with you at Rok Plaza.
Superb apartment facilities , everything you need provided. Efficient & friendly hosts, speedy communication. New apartment block , fresh & new throughout , spotlessly clean. Right in Alcala centre , beside large Superdino supermarket , 2 large Cafe , 2 Banks etc
Beautifully appointed apartment near centre of Alcala. Good selection of restaurants, cafes within easy walking distance. Communication with hosts was very good. Excellent value for money.
Everything was great, beautiful hotel, amazing pool, great food & service, and beautiful surroundings outside (ocean direction). It was good that some pools are heated.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food and service were excellent. The place is beautiful and quiet.
Ocean view from the garden, town of Alcala where the hotel is located - there are a few nice restaurants where we went due to dissapointing hotel food.
The localisation with a balcony with view on the sea, the location in Alcalá, a more spanish town without the big resorts. Nice restaurants in the area
Alcala is a lovely quiet haven on a busy Island
