Set in Bermeo, Hotel Nafarrola features a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. This 4-star hotel offers room service and a concierge service. Josu was the best hotel manager I have come across. He accommodated absolutely all our requests beyond expectations. The place is secluded yet still close to all attractions in Urdaibai. Rooms were clean, comfortable and stylish.
Featuring free WiFi, Andra Mari Apartamentu Turistikoak is located in Bermeo´s Old Town. Mundaka is 1.9 mi from the property, while Gernika is 9.3 mi away. The accommodations comes with a seating... The staff was very friendly and helped us with everything we may need. I recommend this place 100%.
Mañuko Benta is set in countryside, 4.3 mi from the town of Bermeo. The stone and wood building features antique furniture and there is a garden, free Wi-Fi and free parking. An unexpected treasure hidden in the mountains. Wonderful Hosts. Spotlessly clean. Just lovely. Dog friendly.
Located in Bermeo and featuring sea and Marina views, this apartment offers free WiFi. Andra Mari Portua is 16 mi from Bilbao and 1.9 mi from Mundaka. Lovely location overlooking the marina. Outstanding view and location. Safe parking within sight. Five flights up, but Gochon was kind enough to help with our bags. Nicely decorated. Would definitely stay again.
Less than 0.6 mi from Playa de Aritzatxu, Torre Ercilla Ostatua is located in Bermeo and features rooms with free WiFi. The units in the guest house are fitted with a flat-screen TV. The owner was very nice and friendly. Both the flat and the room were modern, cosy, with soft relaxing colors. I kind of liked the tiny breakfast kit. Amazing location in terms of convenience, walking distance to pretty much everything.
Set in the countryside, 10 minutes’ drive from Bermeo, Arrizurieta features charming, rustic-style rooms with free WiFi. It has a shared lounge and furnished terrace. It's in the countryside, but it was easy to find. It's right by the bus stop, so rather than the hassle of taking the car into town, I hopped on a bus. The room was lovely and there is a shared kitchen/liviing area. The owners are trying to make the lodge ecologically sustainable. The owner was very obliging and let me use the kitchen to prepare my salads and breakfast as the latter is not served until 9.30.
Located in Bermeo in the Basque Country region, Apartamento Talako has a terrace and mountain views. It is set 1640 feet from Playa de Aritzatxu and offers free WiFi plus a 24-hour front desk. It really is sparkling clean, very good location and amazing views. The owner very nice and willing to share details about the area. And great value. I totally recommend!
A wonderful place to explore the Spanish Basque country. Excellent transport links ( bus and train) meant we didn't need our car . A lovely variety of restaurants and bars with fabulous food. Everyone here is so friendly - Great opportunity to practice your Spanish/Basque as not a lot of English spoken which we think makes it a more authentic experience. Loved it!
Great location and flat for a short stay on the Basque coast. Lovely atmosphere in the harbour area in the evenings. Lots of bars and places to eat. The nearby San Juan de Gaztelugatxe was fantastic to visit. I strongly recommend you arrive early to park and miss the crowds eg by 9am and wear trainers. It is quite a physical walk but very photogenic.
I was there on la Noche de San Juan, the summer solstice, and got to see the celebration in the plaza in front of the ayuntamiento. It was really cool to see and the people there were really friendly and willing to answer my questions and hang out with me for a while and make recommendations about what to do in the area. Also, if you make the trip up to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, which you absolutely must, there is a restaurant there with the best calamares I've ever had.
I love natural areas and Bermeo is good for this. I loved the Castillo Buitron with the surrounding woods and walks by the river. And I also visited the Urdbaidai Bird Observation place overlooking the marshes. Bermeo itself is quite nice too. I love historic cemeteries and these are plentiful and, of course, full of interesting Basque names. I found it difficult to find out about hiking trails in the forest, although I understand there are several along the coast..
I felt the prices were rather high for this town. The harbour area was nice with the usual bars and tapas etc., but areas around it were a bit dirty and tired and there wasn’t much to do or see. It is a stopover for those visiting the nearby hermitage, used as a film location for Game of Thrones but we were rather disappointed in the town itself.
It's a small place tidy enough but not really for tourists I was their for a specific purpose which I managed to achieve but the beaches back along the line towards gerbils would no doubt be pleasant in summer!
