Mañuko Benta is set in countryside, 4.3 mi from the town of Bermeo. The stone and wood building features antique furniture and there is a garden, free Wi-Fi and free parking. An unexpected treasure hidden in the mountains. Wonderful Hosts. Spotlessly clean. Just lovely. Dog friendly.
Located in Bermeo in the Basque Country region, Apartamento Talako has a terrace and mountain views. It is set 1640 feet from Playa de Aritzatxu and offers free WiFi plus a 24-hour front desk. Apartment was spotless and had everything you could need. Beds were really comfortable as was the sofa. Everything seemed new, matched and beautifully set out. Bathroom superb. We had a bit of difficulty finding the apartment so the host came and found us! Couldn't have been nicer.
A wonderful place to explore the Spanish Basque country. Excellent transport links ( bus and train) meant we didn't need our car . A lovely variety of restaurants and bars with fabulous food. Everyone here is so friendly - Great opportunity to practice your Spanish/Basque as not a lot of English spoken which we think makes it a more authentic experience. Loved it!
Great location and flat for a short stay on the Basque coast. Lovely atmosphere in the harbour area in the evenings. Lots of bars and places to eat. The nearby San Juan de Gaztelugatxe was fantastic to visit. I strongly recommend you arrive early to park and miss the crowds eg by 9am and wear trainers. It is quite a physical walk but very photogenic.
I was there on la Noche de San Juan, the summer solstice, and got to see the celebration in the plaza in front of the ayuntamiento. It was really cool to see and the people there were really friendly and willing to answer my questions and hang out with me for a while and make recommendations about what to do in the area. Also, if you make the trip up to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, which you absolutely must, there is a restaurant there with the best calamares I've ever had.
I love natural areas and Bermeo is good for this. I loved the Castillo Buitron with the surrounding woods and walks by the river. And I also visited the Urdbaidai Bird Observation place overlooking the marshes. Bermeo itself is quite nice too. I love historic cemeteries and these are plentiful and, of course, full of interesting Basque names. I found it difficult to find out about hiking trails in the forest, although I understand there are several along the coast..
I felt the prices were rather high for this town. The harbour area was nice with the usual bars and tapas etc., but areas around it were a bit dirty and tired and there wasn’t much to do or see. It is a stopover for those visiting the nearby hermitage, used as a film location for Game of Thrones but we were rather disappointed in the town itself.
Overall, a great place to stay and a very modern appartment with everything you need. It was cosy, well distributed, very well located within Bermeo historical part, and easily accessible from anywhere and close to bars and places to eat. No issues to find parking spots during all our stay, and several supermarkets are closeby. The owner was very helpful and provided us with lots of recommendations for our stay in the area. I really recommend it!
Pablo stayed in touch throughout our stay - he was quick to answer any questions. The location is in the heart of the old town in Bermeo. Access to the harbour is a few minutes away via 4-5 flights of stairs. A carpark is available, which is about 400 meters away. The facility's are all modern and work very well. Street noise brings the culture of Spain through the window.
Fantastic and spotless apartment just a short walk away from Bermeo's city center, with all the services you might need (including some breakfast goodies kindly added by the host) and a wonderful view from the 9th floor. We really were not expecting such an ample, well kept and comfortable place, so it was all the sweeter - including having two bathrooms!
VERY helpful woman at the front desk helped me to successfully book a taxi on a sunday in winter to san juan whizh was extremely difficult since there are only about 5 taci drivers in bermeo. she patiently tried for half an hour. great location
Josu was the best hotel manager I have come across. He accommodated absolutely all our requests beyond expectations. The place is secluded yet still close to all attractions in Urdaibai. Rooms were clean, comfortable and stylish.

Having visited Bermeo for many years if there is a better view of the old port we have yet to see it. The location is superb !!
Basic hotel with good value for money. Friendly staff.
