Great family friendly place, but good nightlife. Wide choice of restaurants. Feels very safe. Everything you need in walking distance. Choice of supermarkets. Fantastic weather. Lovely beach, loads of space even in height of summer. Affordable. All restaurants great. Favourites Hemmingway (book when you arrive), Milo (can book online), Pizzeria Garden, Veni, Pizzaria Sorelle D Italia. And Zarcos - best cocktails.

Los Alcázeres is a charming little seaside town and is well worth a visit. It's clean and safe and the local government seems to be making a real effort to promote tourism and make international guests feel welcome.

We have been travelling to Los Alcazares for 24 years.
We have been travelling to Los Alcazares for 24 years. It has changed a lot in that time, but the old town continues to offer a rustic charm. The waters of the Mar Menor offer very safe bathing for those with children and the waters are generally warmer than the Med. The beach front consists of privately owned houses and apartments, with no high rise buildings, giving the whole area a family feel. There are a wide variety of restaurants in the town, catering for all palates. There is easy access to both Cartegena and Murcia, by local bus, with cheap fares.

The resort is still suffering from the effects of the ecological disaster. The “gotta freijas” (as hoc storms) still results in excessive agricultural run off into the Mar Menor causing extensive water discolouration creating the appearance of sewage.
Unless staying in the centre a vehicle is essential or budget for taxis.

Would recommend Los Alcazares to young families or older people or people who are on their own. Los Alcazares is flat (not at all hilly). It has a 5km paved and palm tree lined promenade. Would not recommend for teenagers or twenty somethings looking for nightlife.
Good location for everything. Clean comfortable and spacious apartment. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and nice sunset view from balcony. The pools are lovely and the complex is quiet. The hosts are welcoming and helpful. They arranged a pick up from airport which was great as there is very little public transport from Murcia airport.
The apartment was in a great location, beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything you would need. I was there with my parents and we all agreed that if we go back to los alcazares we would book there again. Sergio the owner was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
