One of the highlights was the beautiful view overlooking the hotel’s serene garden (the hotel is small and designed on a way every room will have this view) The location couldn’t be better, with everything just a short walk away, except for INSEAD which was 18 mins walk away but I didn’t mind at all.

The Chateau and village are an easy hop from Paris and your Metro tickets and Navigo passes treat it as a in-city trip, as do the busses once you are there. So easy, yet so different. Catch the train at the Gare du Lyon and 3 stops later you arrive at the Fontainebleau Avon station. No stress, not much thought, just a simple hop!

The palace was stunning!
The palace was stunning! Blew my expectations out of the water! Must do the inexpensive indoor tour complete with the audio tour. It explained so many interesting historical facts besides just the sheer splendor of everything.
The town was honestly such a gem. Clean, safe, FREE OF GRAFFITI!! Lots of great restaurants of many ethnicities. So much to see. Compact.
Only disappointment was it was hard to find a restaurant open on Sunday and the pastry shops were closed Sunday and Monday. For me, that was a great disappointment!

It's a great town if you want to live like a local.
It's a great town if you want to live like a local. The market is really good and we enjoyed visiting the shops. We have gone to the chateau twice it was so enjoyable, and love walking around the grounds. We missed a tour of the horse stables because it was only once a week - wish they had it more often.

The chateau is near the top of our favorites in France.
The chateau is near the top of our favorites in France. The town area is pleasant, with some nice little stores and a nice church. There are a number of really good restaurants. It is always busy becuase of the chateau but doesn't feel over crowded or rushed,. For walker, the woods must be a marvel.

It was well worth a visit to the palace and the grounds.
It was well worth a visit to the palace and the grounds. Lots of amazing history, art, and the locale is peaceful and beautiful. A true gem and a super relaxing way to spend a day in France with the family! Relax at the terrace cafe after a tour or being a picnic. Lounge by the pond and watch the Koi fish and meander through the park to discover statues, the namesake water spring, or just get some exercise. Absolutely lovely!

We'd go again to Fontainebleau - it's a lovely town with a fantastic market. We went two days to the Chateau because there is so much to see. The first day we took pictures and the second day we paid more attention to the historical aspect. We could have spent more time walking around the grounds. We loved the town and the shops and the grocery stores are great as well. It's a perfect place to relax and live like a local. And eat too many pastries. We also visited the church in the middle of town and were treated to some lovely organ playing.

Spacious and clean place right in Fontainebleau. Parking 2min, free at night. Beautiful shops and restaurants around. Great kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable (hard) mattress. Towels and shower facilities were provided. We didn't meet the host but he was always easy to contact. Great timber floor. We felt comfortable and at home, would have loved to stay longer so would definitely come back. Thumbs up!

The apartment was very clean and well equipped. It was situated in the centre of Fontainebleau. I felt very comfortbale in that accomodation. The owners were very kind to send me my razor that I had forgotten in the flat back to my home address in Germany. If I might return to the Paris region again next year, I will definitely consider this accomodatio in Fontainebleau.
