Ô PLUM'ART Chambres de caractère, hotel in Giverny

Featuring a garden, Ô PLUM'ART Chambres de caractère is located in Giverny in the Haute-Normandie region, 22 miles from Le CADRAN. The hotel has family rooms.

The staff handled the check-in process and introduction to the property with utmost grace and cordiality. We agreed to speak Portuguese, a neutral language, to ensure mutual comprehension. We were served delicious, local, herbal tea in a most unique format: a double-walled glass carafe from a local designer. The staff handled a mechanical problem very gracefully, offering an acceptable work-around. The check-out staff, who also served breakfast, handled a prickly financial situation with even more grace, professionalism, and charm. That she gave me an alternative method to resolve the situation with my financial institution was incredibly welcome and accommodating. This was world-class and rare.

Le Jardin des Plumes, hotel in Giverny

Located in Giverny, Le Jardin des Plumes, The Originals Collection offers art-déco furniture, a garden and a terrace. Monet’s house and gardens are only 1640 feet from the hotel.

We were rebooked at La Plum Art, the companion Guesthouse due to a closing of Le Jardin des Plumes. Although disappointed that we had to be moved, our stay at this small renovated Guesthouse was excellent. The renovation was tasteful and the rooms and bathrooms superb. Gorgeous linens and bedding. The mattress was perhaps the most luxurious that I have experienced in my global business travel at many 5 star hotels. I slept superbly. Breakfast was lovely, each coffee individuality prepared French Press style. The property is an easy distance to the Giverny sites.

Great location from drop off of local transportation; peaceful, easy walk to Monet House and Gardens. Elsie was so personable and easy to communicate with; breakfast was fresh and generous; the room very charming and comfortable with little extras like slippers and robes. Very neat and sweet!

Le petit nid d'aigle - Giverny, hotel in Giverny

Providing a garden, Le petit nid d'aigle - Giverny provides accommodations in Giverny.

It was situated in a charming, “ancien” chateau right on the quaint cobblestone street of Rue Claude Monet. October, and still the lane was filled with flowers! Véronique was an extraordinarily gracious host, offering to pick us up from the train station. We found the accommodations delightful—very cozy and well appointed, everything we needed in this sweet lair above her art studio. It was a 5 minute walk to Claude Monets gardens and home, and a 2 minute walk to the beautiful old church where he and family members were buried. We spent 3 days walking in the picturesque hills above Giverny, through farmland and forests. It was relaxing and quaint and slow-paced, a world away from Paris.

Giverny is a charming and historic town that has an intimate feel despite having a world-class attraction of Monet’s Gardens. On our visit, visitors seemed thoughtful and respectful, and like us, were in awe of the beauty of the village itself, as well as the magnificent gardens themselves. It was a great pleasure to stroll through the streets of Giverny, and the advantage of staying in town is that most visitors to the gardens have left by late afternoon and the village itself is peaceful and interesting to explore. Although restaurant options in town are somewhat limited (however there is apparently a Michelin starred restaurant in town), we enjoyed dining at “Le Temps des Fleurs”, on a covered terrace overlooking a garden. We also enjoyed visiting the Giverny Museum of Impressionism, which is a more intimate space with no permanent collection, but interesting temporary exhibitions.

A charming village with good restaurants, bakery and cafes.

A charming village with good restaurants, bakery and cafes. The Museum was interesting and held beautiful artwork of Impressionists. Monet's garden and house were a treat to visit. Our timing was perfect - there was much in bloom and the weather was cooperative. There were hidden monuments - Monet's bust, the monument to him and his family. And the house was beautifully replicated.

Beautiful village, with a sense of peace and quietness despite many tourists. Monets garden is absolutely worth a visit as well as the impressionist museum. We had dinner at the new restaurant “Oscar” at the museum (excellent food at a fair price, definitely recommend it)

This centre was lacking in the overall character of a village. The gardens were the focus. But there was very little opportunity to enjoy the village separate to the gardens as there were no shops to buy local cheese, yes there is a bakery but no partisse. It had character but no sole.

We loved the gardens and house although very busy.

We loved the gardens and house although very busy. Glad we chose the earlier booking option as by the time we left it was mobbed. If we had longer we would have gone to the museum too, however, we were en route south and needed to get going. Like it even better once we left the pre booked disgusting Les Rouges Gorges and paid for another stay at the idyllic La Dime.

We could not have wished for a better place to spent our visit in Giverny. The house and the rooms are very beautiful and so nicely decorated. Diana is very nice, friendly and such a perfect hostess. The breakfast was with the fresh fruit salad, homemade delicious jams, crunchy baguette, croissants, freshly pressed orange juice, … together with the charming table layout a great start into our day. Highly recommended!

Great location. Only a 7 minute walk from Monet's garden. Very peaceful. Nice outdoor space to sit. Rustic, basic and with a certain charm. An authentic experience of rural France. Large comfortable bed. Towels provided. All the basic equipment available. Breakfast was included & host delivers the bread to your door. Host informed us of the best places to eat & about the nightlife. Good for an overnight stay.

Veronique was an amazing host, she lives in the same building so check in and out were super convenient. She gave great recommendations on Giverny. Location was great, perfect if you want to visit Monet’s house and gardens. The flat was a bit cosy but very well organised and well-appointed.
