Hotel in Le Grau-du-Roi
In the heart of Le Grau-du-Roi, originally a Mediterranean fishing village that has become a beach resort, this hotel is 213 feet from the canal, and just 984 feet from the beach. While the season did not really permit its usage, there was a balcony with a table and two chairs. In the summer, it would have been really pleasant but in winter, it's a bit too chilly.

The property was a little tired, Im glad I took my own bedding and towels. I am used to staying in 5 star hotels and whilst I knew this was far from 5 stars, I was disappointed to find plastic sheets on the beds. It so reminded me of an out dated Butlins holiday camp room
there‘s a lot of things to do like go shopping or eat there, bathe, go to the amigoland and accept your death (-> adrenalin), go to the „plage de l‘espiguette“ but we wouldn‘t recommend walking if you’re not dangerously suicidal, since the heat will burn you alive in the 2h you need to get there - rather borrow a bike and ride it together.
A very pleasant Meditteranean resort, plus the inhabitants are friendly and welcoming. Access and parking are easy. Not sure about the food. It's good, if not inspiring. Le Grau-du-Roi is not a gastronimic destination, but that's not a reason to avoid it. The place is such a pleasant destination.
Lovely touristy little town near to a natural park. It had a nice atmosphere of a small marine town and lovely restaurants, however it was way too busy and overcrowded at times. The public transport from and to the town was very poor and it is difficult to access without a car. Ideal for short breaks, not so good for longer stays.
Grau-du-Roi is a very touristy place that caters to budget travelers. The shopping district is gaudy and filled with cheap souvenirs, little trinkets and vulgar clothes. Ice cream shops and churros shops abound. The beach is basic and very crowded in summer months. Traffic and parking are horrendous. Restaurants are expensive and mostly serve seafood. Aigues-Mortes, which is 4.5 kms away, is a much nicer town to visit and stay in.
Le Grau du Roi is a perfect French sea-side town with just about anything you could need for a family holiday. As Brits we didn't hear any English being spoken for the entire holiday which was a wonderful way to get away from it all and to feel that we were in a completely different place. Le Grau du Roi has a family friendly beach with pedalos and paddle boards which our teenagers loved. Every morning the beach was swept, In the evenings there was often entertainment just off the sea front, not rowdy or over loud but really enjoyable and again family orientated, Le Grau du Roi is a perfect location if you want to see more of the Petite Camargue with its amazing landscape and wild life. We took a boat from the quayside and visited the local lagoons and canals with views of pink flamingos, herons plus the Camargue horses and bulls. In the evenings there was a definite vibe in this little town with a whole host of restaurants to choose from and plenty of boutiques and shops to browse. Nimes is only an hour away and the train fare was under 1 euro for a single. Would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely place.
Le Grau-du-Roi
The appartment is very clean and comfortable. We could park the car safely and only had to walk 2min to the beach. In the morning you can have breakfast in the sun at the balcony. We would definitely recommend this appartement!
Le Grau-du-Roi
The position next to the beach and walking distance to the centre ..i would advice more then 1 toilet roll and we missed a tea towell ..we are in hostellerie so we left it very clean ..air con was a big plus
Close proximity to the beach. Balcony & view, car park access terrific. Staff very friendly & welcoming, quiet considering there were a lot of apartment buildings.
Le Grau-du-Roi
Beautiful surroundings, beautiful national park with flamingos, salt mines and horses. The beaches are ideal for small children, they are sandy and shallow.
Facilities are great. Hotel is different than other and nature around hotel ia perfect. We spent 1 night ,but for sure we would return for more days .
