Quite honestly, I was drawn to Saint Mere Eglise because it was the station point for a D-Day tour my dad and I had booked. I had no clue the charm and history of this little town! The food was great everywhere we went, the museum was incredible, the people were so, so kind, the list goes on! This is definitely a hidden gem of Normandy. We visited Utah Beach on our tour, and it was packed tight with tourists. After hearing other people's experiences in Normandy, I was so glad we stayed in such a quaint town. 11/10 -- exceeded our expectations.Guest review byHannah - 10.0

I was unaware when booking the room that this town played a major part in the history of the D-Day landings. The American Airborne museum is in the heart of the town and it’s a stones throw from Utah beach and the Azeville Battery. Pretty little town close to many WW2 sites of interest. Visited Utah Beach and the Airborne Museum. Also took time to visit a German War Cemetery at la Cambe - very different to the British, American and Canadian ones. This town is fantastic and we will be going back. We only planned a day, then, we extended another day. Very peaceful. What a history this town has to offer and the people that live and work there are wonderful. The food was exceptional. Things close early, so if you are going to the beaches, make sure you get to town early enough for dinner. You can walk to town and a short drive to all the beaches and museums. La-liberation is a small pub with good food. The stores are great for military stuff and souvenirs. Don’t miss this town if you are headed for Normandy.Guest review byDavidUnited States

The house itself has been lovingly restored to its former glory in a manner which retains many original features. The auberge is quaint and rustic, just what we were hoping for. The room was comfortable and had a great shower (once we worked out how to use it!!) Breakfast was simple continental style, but very tasty with great coffee.
