Souillac is a handy stop on a long drive north or south through France as it is very close to the A20. Really exceptional place - the hosts went over and above...
Really exceptional place - the hosts went over and above what you would expect. The cycling related rooms, themes and inspired antique furniture made for an interesting and informative stay - we browsed the posters and pictures for hours. Food in the cafe was very good - with combination of locals and tourists all welcome to enjoy the social spaces. Hosts also helped with our touring around plans and information about other local sites and ammenities. Will be returning again! We ate out in the nearby town - about a 5 min walk from the house - really good quality in both restuarants and music both nights! Clean, spacious room with a kettle. Breakfast was great - lots of variety and worth the cost. I had an early arrival in Souillac and had contacted the hotel to ask if I could drop my bag off, which they said I could. However, when I arrived, my room was ready. The perfect starting point to explore the Dordogne and Lot regions.
