Combining 3 mountains, Val d’isere is one of the top ski destinations in France. There are all type of slopes for any level of skiers/snowboarders prepared regularly. The number and the quality of the lifts is over the general standards of Europe (as I’ve been skiing over 40 years in numerous destinations in Europe) providing easy access between Val d’isere and Tignes.
Val d'Isere is an upscale Alpine French village -- English is widely spoken, there are many small restaurants/bars, tons of ski/board shops for purchase or rental, pharmacy/medical facility, walk to everhyting, extremely friendly to visitors. The mountains, being among the highest in the Alps, retain good skiing, at altitude, for the entire ski season (the mountain closes May 1). During our visit, there were only a few feet of snow on the slopes (a low-snow year for the Alps), but the snow/skiing was excellent. Being somewhat remote, the village tends to be less overcrowded, even on holidays/blue bird days, than places like Trois Vallees, Megeve, St. Anton ... Lots of hotels, chalets, BnBs ... Generally, a wonderful ski destination for Alpine snow lovers!
Val d’isere is a world class resort Incredible and famous ski terrain - you can’t ski the whole place in a week - and that is rare and special The off piste and possibilities to explore the mountains further then the piste are also plentiful The town and the entertainment are perfect - wonderful apres ski, with great bars, live music, fun clubs The range of food on the slopes and in the town is of extremely high quality - but you should book all the best restaurants in advance
Val d'Isere was absolutely beautiful The town was picturesque, we stayed the week before Christmas and it was like a winter wonderland, so special. There were lots of different places to eat, 2 supermarkets. Lots of different ski schools and great green runs for the beginners as well as lots more advanced runs. We were within walking distance to the chair lift, it was brilliant. Friendly staff in shops & restaurants. Would love to go back!!
My favourite place to ski, has something for everyone. Most of all snow sure and back to resort skiing. Town and Mountain run extremely efficiently with great bus service. Fully integrated lift system for vast area, lots of mountain restaurants at all price points and finally masses of off piste.
Lovely village with a great ski area which is good for intermediate + skiers. Lift facilities etc are very good. Overall it is quite pricey and very busy at peak times so you’ll need to try and book restaurants and budget accordingly. Local bus is great and regular (free with ski pass). If you are self catering and you can buy food in the main towns below the mountains then I would recommend as it will be a lot cheaper.
Proximity of Hotel to lifts was good and the room was generous. I shared a triple with my two sons and the space was more than ample. If the double bed was moved onto the mezzanine you could easily get three single beds in the main room and sleep 5!… still leaving room to queue for the bathroom. If you are a family of four with 2 younger kids this room could work well and offer good value for money? It hasn’t undergone a make over like those on the lower floors but for us the space provided the value.
We could not have picked a better hotel if we tried. The location is absolutely perfect and just a two minute walk away from the ski lifts, however, the hotel have a shuttle service and will take you there. I rented my snowboard from the hotel and the service was impeccable. The breakfast is also out of this world and the food is so lovely. The staff are so incredibly helpful and will do anything you need them to. The rooms are massive and exceptionally clean. We are already booking to come back!
The front desk staff was nice but didn't speak any English so it was a little challenge figuring out our booking, payment etc but we worked through it. Location is great right in Val d'isere proper and easy walk to anything and everything you'd want to do in town and to slopes. Private free parking behind building was also a plus. The price was right for the location as every other lodging in town is ridiculously priced.
The hotel was family run & very friendly & helpful. The room was cosy & clean & comfortable. The hotel location was exceptional being so close to the lifts, town centre & restaurants, Nice breakfast that set us up for the day. A bar & drinks in the evening & a welcome drink on New Year`s Eve was a lovely touch. Really nice sauna which was great after a full days skiing. Would happily return another year.
Was a great skiing week and the hotel made it even better. Room was small but comfy and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel staff was welcoming and helpful, especially Cathy from the spa. Breakfast was good though could be better. Location is top notch and just 3-4 minutes walk from the two main gondolas.
The apartment was very (no... VERY) warm and comfortable. Close to all you need during the ski vacation: bakery, grocery, ski renting shop, ski lifts, ski pass office. Beautiful views from the window and around the hotel. Cleaning welcome kit was very useful. Even soap and shower gel we got.
The hotel was conveniently located and very quiet despite being on the main street. The spa and hotel facilities were excellent. Staff were very very friendly and professional. The breakfast in the morning was exceptional compared to some in the resort.
Good central location - nice breakfasts - very comfy beds - very quiet at night - lovely staff. This is a small simple bed & breakfast hotel. Adequate for skiing as little time is spent in the room.
Bought a ski pass at reception. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Staff friendly and fun. Comfortable bedroom, spa, useful ski/boot room, meets the requirements for a ski hotel. Slept like a log.
its 3 star hotel but feels like much more !!! The hotel and staff are lovely Excellent and friendly service Homely atmosphere Special thanks to Ariane and Fred.

The property is listed on Booking.com and other sites as 4 star accommodation when is at very best 2 stars. The star rating must be updated in line with reality.
Great ski location. Room was fine and staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice too. The apres ski afternoon tea was well received.
