Some of the best hotels in Val-d'Isère near Tignes Golf Course include Les Suites – Maison Bouvier, Marmotte and Le Terril Blanc.
My favourite place to ski, has something for everyone. Most of all snow sure and back to resort skiing. Town and Mountain run extremely efficiently with great bus service. Fully integrated lift system for vast area, lots of mountain restaurants at all price points and finally masses of off piste.
Lovely village with a great ski area which is good for intermediate + skiers. Lift facilities etc are very good. Overall it is quite pricey and very busy at peak times so you’ll need to try and book restaurants and budget accordingly. Local bus is great and regular (free with ski pass). If you are self catering and you can buy food in the main towns below the mountains then I would recommend as it will be a lot cheaper.
Val d´'Isère is great for skiing and has something for all ages - even makes your most grumpy teenager smile (great party). Transfer a bit long, but absolutely worth it. Nice village, great restaurants, skiing for all, big (inc Tignes).
Tignes/Val d'Isere is a very nice ski resort, with lots of lifts and pistes for all abilities, the town is full of excellent shops and restaurants, over the last few years both Tignes and Val d'isere have put a lot money into keeping the resorts updated.
Found this a very expensive resort, and a long drive from Geneve. But if you want a more classy looking french mountain (small) town, good quality restaurants, easy access to slopes then it's a good choice. It's small and easy to get around. Free bus to other ski lifts which are out of town.
As we visited during the 3rd week in September, off season, very few people and most restaurants were closed. Yet, it was very peaceful and quiet to enjoy the mountains. My spouse and I are good hikers, we thus had very pleasant hikes - Gorges du Malpasset, Lac de la Saissiere, Refuge du Fond des Fours, Le Balcon (just in front of Val d'Isere). A drive up to Col de l'Iseran is definitely worth a visit (perhaps not possible in winter due to weather conditions). Bonneval-sur-Arc to be visited as well!
The Avancher is a great hotel - the rooms are spacious, modern, very clean and the beds were great! The breakfast is fantastic and the spa is superb - everything you need to start and end a good day of skiing :-) Do note that it's located a few hundred meters from the village center, but it's not really a problem. There's a bus going every few minutes up and down the main street, with a stop some 150m from the hotel. It will get you to any of the lifts, and when not carrying your skis, it's a nice stroll to the village center.
The hotel was incredibly well positioned in the centre of the old village close to the ski lifts. The facilities were excellent pool, steam room, sauna, spa, they even had their own shop, and ski hire, along with boot room. The Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to make sure that you were happy at all times which was very good! The restaurant catered for my diet was was excellent, and the chef made me special dishes which was really appreciated.
The staff were charming, helpful and extremely accommodating (e.g. my request for gluten-free bread, extra pillows etc). The location is perfect for accessing the slopes, shops, ski hire, bars and restaurants. The hotel was beautifully clean in all areas. Amazingly thick blackout curtains which worked a treat. Would definitely stay again.
Stayed here a few times during the season: unbelievable service (shuttle service was a real bonus) and amenities (especially the spa and the ski room) plus the room was huge and wonderfully decorated, with fabulous staff, and lovely restaurant - one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and can't wait to come back next season!
The hotel is in a very central location and the staff, led by Pascale, is extremely warm and hospitable. They went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The cleanliness and hygiene levels are excellent. Though my room was tiny, it was immaculately clean and the housekeeping was great.

Cozy, clean and quiet room. Nice breakfast. The view from the restaurant is stunning with a direct view of the ski slopes. Great location. Gondola lift of Olympique ski track is 250 meters from the hotel.
Location was incredible Room was small but comfortable Breakfast wasn't great Overall good value for money and can't beat location No hotel parking but parking across street

Val-d'Isère
Great location, pistes in La Daille just over the road from hotel with Funival to top of mountain so easy to ski over to Tignes and Val d’Isère. Free shuttle bus outside hotel to take into Val d’Isère centre, runs every 10 mins all day. We stayed in a 6 person room (room 221) it’s cosy but enough room for our family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids aged 15, 13 and 9.
