Excellent and entertaining skiing for intermediates and above who like a bit of difficulty. Beginners, however, beware - the grading of runs in this resort is completely out of whack with other Alpine resorts. There are reds and even blues with parts that would definitely be graded black in other resorts and greens that have reddish bits in them. Bonkers! However, the village is really nice and friendly, plus the surroundings are simply breathtaking. On the downside, it is a very, very expensive resort - lift passes pricey, plus restaurants and hotels simply don't deliver the quality of food and accommodation that you'd expect when paying such high prices.
Good position of hotel , warm, friendly, large room , great view. The Lodge next door for drinks, very friendly, La Casserole, very good to eat there. Fantastic supermarket close by, had everything that you would need. Close to the ski lifts, free buses, great. Enjoyed La Folilie Douce, from La Dailey, you must go, fab .
My favourite place to ski, has something for everyone. Most of all snow sure and back to resort skiing. Town and Mountain run extremely efficiently with great bus service. Fully integrated lift system for vast area, lots of mountain restaurants at all price points and finally masses of off piste.
Lovely village with a great ski area which is good for intermediate + skiers. Lift facilities etc are very good. Overall it is quite pricey and very busy at peak times so you’ll need to try and book restaurants and budget accordingly. Local bus is great and regular (free with ski pass). If you are self catering and you can buy food in the main towns below the mountains then I would recommend as it will be a lot cheaper.
Val d´'Isère is great for skiing and has something for all ages - even makes your most grumpy teenager smile (great party). Transfer a bit long, but absolutely worth it. Nice village, great restaurants, skiing for all, big (inc Tignes).
Tignes/Val d'Isere is a very nice ski resort, with lots of lifts and pistes for all abilities, the town is full of excellent shops and restaurants, over the last few years both Tignes and Val d'isere have put a lot money into keeping the resorts updated.
The Avancher is a great hotel - the rooms are spacious, modern, very clean and the beds were great! The breakfast is fantastic and the spa is superb - everything you need to start and end a good day of skiing :-) Do note that it's located a few hundred meters from the village center, but it's not really a problem. There's a bus going every few minutes up and down the main street, with a stop some 150m from the hotel. It will get you to any of the lifts, and when not carrying your skis, it's a nice stroll to the village center.
Well located hotel (10 minute walk to the centre of Val d'Isere and to the pistes). Perfectly renovated and cosy rooms. Very nice staff. Possibility to place a modifiable reservation. Easy parking (we were off-peak season).
Cozy, clean and quiet room. Nice breakfast. The view from the restaurant is stunning with a direct view of the ski slopes. Great location. Gondola lift of Olympique ski track is 250 meters from the hotel.
Location was incredible Room was small but comfortable Breakfast wasn't great Overall good value for money and can't beat location No hotel parking but parking across street

Val-d'Isère
Great location, pistes in La Daille just over the road from hotel with Funival to top of mountain so easy to ski over to Tignes and Val d’Isère. Free shuttle bus outside hotel to take into Val d’Isère centre, runs every 10 mins all day. We stayed in a 6 person room (room 221) it’s cosy but enough room for our family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids aged 15, 13 and 9.
