An overnight stay at The Victoria Hotel.

An overnight stay at The Victoria Hotel. Wisely, pre booked a table at their restaurant, the service and quality of food was excellent. The room facilities were good, clean and as expected. The bedding was spotless, crisp and fresh. Complementary tea, coffee & biscuits. Room temperature was comfortable. Blackout curtains. An easy walk down to the very clean beach with soft sand and lovely views of the castle. A comfortable night's sleep followed by a hearty breakfast the following morning with a good selection and refill. Parking was excellent via the hotel private carpark, guests only access, coded barrier entrance. We are so glad to have chosen this hotel and highly recommend it to others.

Bamburgh is a lovely small town.

Bamburgh is a lovely small town. Quite quaint and picturesque. It is within easy reach of a host of things to do and see. We went to Lindisfarne and its unique castle which we really enjoyed. The Puffin Boat trip from Seahouses was amazing. We'll worth the expense. On our walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle we watched a large pod of dolphins close to the shore. Beautiful and very evocative. Alnmouth has a really lovely beach and lots of interesting shops and eateries. We loved Northumberland.

    Bamburgh is charming.

Bamburgh is charming. The castle dominates and the setting is dramatic. There is a butcher near the hotel who sells pies etc and a restaurant which specialises in seafood albeit at a price. Parking is easy and it's nice to be able to walk to such a pleasant beach even when it's windy and unseasonally cool.

Dominated by the castle, Bamburgh is a lovely piece of Northern English history. The church is hugely historic and well worth a visit, as well as the Grace Darling museum. Good restaurants and pubs and a beach with a view to die for round off the offer - amazing to think all that is packed into a small town.

Bamburgh seems a lovely place but we were surprised that there didn't seem to be a general shop or an obvious one. The range of eating places is not wide and and the ones offered seemed quite expensive. However we decided to eat in the hotel and that turned out to be a good decision.

Great for dogs, lot of dogs staying there and all well behaved and under control. Nice pet friendly pubs and restaurants. No late opening shops and very few buses, last bus to and from bamburgh was 19:30 ish, not an easy walk to anywhere else after dark as no street lamps on coast roads.

The property is centrally located in Bamburgh with many eateries within minutes and the castle is only 5 minute walk. The hotel itself offers onsite parking which is great for peace of mind; beautiful decor and rooms were kept very clean. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The key feature for my family was the hotel is very dog friendly - to the point where our puppy got his own sausage for breakfast and came away with a little complimentary present.

We thought the house had an excellent lay out for us with a lovely joint living room and kitchen/dining area. The beautiful big windows let in plenty of light and had a superb view of the countryside with Bamburgh Castle in the distance. The area was quiet at night. Check in was easy with keys in a lock box. We had an issue at the beginning of our stay and Rachel got back to me immediately and had it sorted. We appreciated her quick response.

We had a superior room which was very clean, comfortable and nice and warm as it was cold outside, despite being August! The breakfasts were good and were served speedily by friendly staff. The hotel was well located as we could walk to Bamburgh Castle and there was a short drive to Lindisfarne and a bit further to Alnwick Castle - all of which we had come to see from our home in London.

The hotel was beautiful and perfectly placed for Bamburgh Castle. Staff were all very welcoming, the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. The meals we had there were fantastic. Dog friendly is always a bonus too.
