Farne Lodge, hotel in Beadnell

Farne Lodge is located in Beadnell, 1.1 km from Beadnell Beach, 8.5 km from Bamburgh Castle, and 22 km from Alnwick Castle.

I booked the apartments for my family and friends as we were attending a family wedding. The first night we sat outside the rooms, but admittedly were talking and laughing a little loudly as it was nice to get together, we were also joined by a couple of other 'neighbours' staying there. Maybe if there were a few lights across the grassed area by the seating areas we could have sat there, rather than disturb other people by sitting in too close approximetry, to their rooms. Rooms were adequate and clean, bathroom a little noisy when the light was switched on, sounded like a large generator of such sort going off. Easy to book and locate yoyr room. Beautiful place/village and great value for money, would definitely come again. Very impressed.

    It is so peaceful.

It is so peaceful. The beach is wonderful, very quiet, majority of people are dog walkers, canoeing or doing other water sports , few more families on the weekend. There is a village pub, two places to have coffee and a very friendly village shop. A fish and chip van comes at the end of the week and looked very popular. You can walk to Seahouses where there are more restaurants and little shops, plus a large Co Op. From Beadnell you have good access to other interesting places and beautiful beaches. Bamburgh Castle was great, drive up towards the Castle as parking cheaper up there. Visit Alnwick and go to Barter Books a second hand book shop in an old railway station, you could spend all day there and they do the best scones I have ever tasted. Holy Island well worth waiting to cross, unfortunately we were too late for entry into the castle, try cross in the morning.Almouth Beach well worth a visit as is Craster but unless you have National Trust cards just walk to the Castle. Definitely visit Beadnell and its surrounding area. The fish and chip shop in Seahouses on the high street do extremely wonderful large portions you won’t need extra chips and Indian Brasserie in Seahouses well worth a visit and not too expensive. As you can probably tell we had a great time just not long enough.

Nice quiet location, but also not too remote.

Nice quiet location, but also not too remote. Good walking options, also bus route if required. Courtyard Cafe offers great breakfast and cakes etc., also evening meals part of the week. Craster Arms a good option for evening meals. Bill Sheil's boat trip to Farne Island from Seahouses recommended.

Beadnell is a lovely friendly place.

Beadnell is a lovely friendly place. Very laid back, quiet and with great places to eat and drink. We ate at the Craster Arms. Food is excellent but be sure to get there early as it’s mega busy. Staff are very friendly. If you like walking it’s worth going to Seahouses, about 3 miles and you can catch the bus back. Nothing to dislike, would go back if ever that way again.

Lovely and quiet at this time of year. Beaches, coastal paths and dunes amazing for walking - very dog friendly cafes and pubs - The Landing, Craster Arms and Beadnell Towers. If you want shops, easy drive to Seahouses.
