The Loft, a property with a garden, is situated in Carbis Bay, 2.9 km from Carbis Bay Beach, 12 km from St Michael's Mount, as well as 26 km from Minack Theatre. Unable to pick on anyone thing as all facilities and experiences were well above what was expected
There were horrendously noisy building works taking place during our stay which we were not forewarned about. We paid £350.00 per night x 3 and the photos of the “superior room with sea view” just didn’t match out expectations. Room absolutely tiny, I have seen bathrooms bigger than this. The trip was for our Honeymoon and the building works and the small size of the room ruined our stay. The staff were lovely and I cannot fault them as ultimately they’re not in charge of the rate we paid but the owners need to look at this. I did complain during my stay and the reception manager offered me a slightly larger room but it didn’t have a balcony and that’s what I had requested in my “superior room with balcony.” The reception staff could see how distressed I was so I would have thought something better could have been offered e.g some complimentary food or a treatment. We spent a further £214.00 with the hotel on drinks and treatments. (After out £1,050.00). I would have thought after the room disappointment and the horrid building works they could have knocked this off our bill. The hotel is beautiful but I would be very hesitant to recommend it at present.
Only went to the (lovely) beach once as the hill was so steep to get back up to accommodation near the the main road. Good location for hopping the bus to St Ives and nice views. The Cornish Arms pub is a nice spot for dinner/drinks. Lack of recycling bins.
Heater provided for room as it was a cold day, books to read was a good touch but all the same author ! DVDs to watch an excellent idea , tea and coffee was easy to make in room. , food was great , unfortunately private cottages at rear had barking dogs all night which totally ruined my stay as they were left outside all night barking , this was not the fault of my hosts, and they said they would report to the agents at rear, I would stay again here however and they accommodated my walk in shower wishes which was great
NO SEA VIEW. FROM BORDING HOUSE. CARBIS BAY BEACH IS VERY NICE CLEAN AND TIDY GOOD FACILITIES. DIFFICULT TO ACCSESS BY CAR UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY £20 PARKING FEE. PARK AT THE TOP AND WALK DOWN, THE WALK BACK IS VERY HARD NOT SUITABLE FOT ELDERLY PEOPLE UNLESS YOU ARE VERY FIT. CARBIS BAY IT SELF IS VERY SMALL AND NOTHING MUCH TO DO ONLY THE BEACH.
Beautiful white sandy bay with restaurant, bar and toilets. Access is via a very steep hill but there is a small car park but costly at £20 a day. Going down to the beach is fine, but going back up is a struggle, especially in this heat wave we’re currently having!!
St Merryn Hotel, our room was comfortable for a base to travel around Cornwall, using the regular bus service which was 150mts away. we used Costa's located in Tesco's for breakfast and other meals were easily available on our travels.
Carbis Bay
Bev was helpful during our stay and was really approachable and easy to contact. The cottage is nice and cozy as its name suggests and is an ideal place to stay especially as we have brought our fur baby with us. The place is complete with amenities and fairly close to shops/pub, train/bus station, and to the beach. We had a lovely stay in Carbis Bay and I definitely recommend the Cozy Carbence Cottage to complete the experience.
Carbis Bay
The views are out of this world across Carbis Bay and the whole accommodation is brilliant. The hosts are friendly, kind and welcoming. They go above and beyond. Breakfast was delicious and it was nice to be given the option to sit and chat with the owners or have breakfast in the room or on the balcony. Carbis Bay Beach is within walking distance down a small path. Parking is also available which is a huge plus in St Ives!
