Devizes is a beautiful heritage market town. The people are very friendly and willing to help in any way. The shops are cosy, comfortable and so very friendly. There are a lot of shops in Devizes including three supermarkets, but nowhere is crammed that you have long queues at the checkouts. I would recommend this small town with a 100+%. It has its own Brewery (Wadworths) and tere beer is suculent and very popular with the residents and visitors alike. Useually the Brewery deliveries are by beautiful Shire HorsesThere are so many beautiful places to visiit easily from Devizes as it has a brilliant bus service to many destinations. It is also bless with a canal with beautiful long boats and the very famous caan hill locks. Thas a yearly canoa race for this stretch. There are plenty of cafes and resturants and their price are so reasonable. I enjoyed the whole of my se canal stretches from Devizes to Westminster London and has a yearly canoa race for this stretch. There are plenty of cafes and resturants and their price are so reasonable. I enjoyed the whole of my stay in this beautiful part of Wiltshire and there was nothing I would want to avoid next time
A pleasent town to visit with interesting shops and nice coffee shops. A fair few good mornings as we walked around. Interesting places for a coffee and great service. Town very clean and tidy. Wonderful architecture
Charming historical little market town.full of interesting little coffee houses restaurants and festivals at various times of year.museum and canal roundway hill and close to Stonehenge and Roman city of bath .friendly and quaint .lovely little streets easy to walk around mud and dundder rum bar was charming spice Indian restaurant had lovely meal there brogan breakfast made me remember why I miss uk.and the Cafe in Market place was a lovely ambience for meeting friends etc.and to top it all besides Norman churches we have a castle .what a lovely visit
Interesting historic town, but as only stayed for one night had no time to explore; town square, market ( Thursdays) , historic fountain, town cross, corn exchange, museum, or castle and brewery visitor centre. Plenty of choice of pubs/cafes for food nearby, but ate in hotel bar where we enjoyed some excellent fish and chips and steak and ale pie.
We had a lovely room at the back of the Hotel overlooking the Church. The Bath was wonderful after a long day of cycling. Secure overnight storage for our bikes. After an evening stroll around Devizes we decided to eat at the Hotel and it was the right decision. Very tasty Chicken Kiev and Chicken&Cheese Burger. A hearty Breakfast the next morning kept us going for the first few hours of our cycle ride. The Staff were very friendly and chatty. We would definitely stay here again.
Devizes
It had everything you could possibly need and with the hot weather they had a fan ready and waiting. I know the area well , so can state that it's in a very good location. I was doing a charity walk so was particularly tired after walking in the heat all day, the apartment was perfect and had everything I needed.I extended my stay for another night. Can't wait to stay again.
Breakfast was fine, room was very nice and our request to have two rooms together was granted. Dinner was very good but we only ate in the hotel for one night as the menu didn't change and there were some excellent restaurants in the town. The market outside on Thursday was amazing. Lovely walks to canals and shops.

The landlady Natalie gave us a very warm welcome on arrival. The room was spotlessly clean and modern, and although central to Devizes it was exceptionally quiet. Long term car parking was available nearby and overall we could not have been happier with our experience at The Pelican.
