Great location, very clean, we were all impressed. Spacious room (booked the Family Room) which had a designated shower room and addition WC. Nice to have simple breakfast selection available (saves a couple of ££). There was a small Morrison just down the road. We liked the décor.

The apartment was ideal for us visiting relatives nearby. It was cold when we arrived but soon warmed when the heaters were on . It was so convenient for the local shops with a co op and butchers nearby. The bus into Edinburgh was really convenient and will give us many trips when we return, it goes to Dunbar in the other direction . We understand that the local train station is opening soon also. On this occasion we did not have transport. An excellent stay. Thankyou

The hotel is small and friendly. The room and bathroom are not huge but more than acceptable.
We ate in the hotel both nights once in the Stables and the other in the bar and the food was very good, The breakfast was amazing

Very well kept, pretty seaside town with harbour and long stretch of sandy beach. There is a regular train service to Edinburgh (approx 20 mins) so it is easy to go and spend a day exploring the city. Good coffee shops on the high street (particularly Parkers) and a couple of local craft shops (e.g. The Makery and Found). There are lovely coastal walks especially the one round the cliff but beware on a windy day it can be quite a battle getting round!

Dunbar is a lovely place to visit - lovely walk from the town to Belhaven Bay. Like most wee towns nowadays the town centre is a wee bit tired but there's everything you need and on a good day it's hard to beat. Great for children....the harbour area and beach are clean and well looked after

Great town with some lovely independent shops! The Community Bakery is well worth a visit - the choice is fabulous; highly recommend the Donker rye loaf, the cheese scones, flapjack, the pies, banoffi pie... The list is endless!

A wonderful town, with lots to do, and we were very pleased to find (unexpected) that there was music festival on). The walks were wonderful along the beaches and harbour, with a nice range of shops and cafes to visit when raining. Very friendly response from shop/cafe holders. We visited the John Muir museum which was amazing and the Town House was excellent. Not sure if there is one, but might be good to have a "food review" of the town, with options to go including the cafes, pubs and restaurants, as it felt a bit hit and miss on occasion. Aside from that, great place, we will come again next year.

The folks at the information center where very helpful.
The folks at the information center where very helpful. Dunbar is the birthplace of John Muir, also known as "John of the Mountains" and "Father of the National Parks", was a Scottish-born American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States.
The employee at the rail station was down right miserable and gave me a very bad impression of the Scottish people in Dunbar.

Great sea front with cliffs, castle, historic fishing harbour (well, 3 harbours really), and chatty locals. A few top restaurants, and the usual mix of pub food and ethnic. Yes there are chip shops - one of them excellent with sit-in. Rail station with frequent service to Edinburgh. Useful bus service to North Berwick, once you have found which of the information sources has the right times AND ROUTE... Some bus stops advertise services which no longer go to that stop, and the Internet information is unreliable and out-of-date. No problem like that on the trains, but the bus is much quicker to North Berwick, and more scenic - it takes you right to the Seabird Centre on the sea-front.
Breakfast was pre-ordered the evening before. Staff attentive and friendly. Sadly we couldn’t have dinner at the hotel as restaurant was closed for the 2 nights we were there( we knew this prior to our arrival) staff helpfully gave us alternative options in Dunbar. I accidentally left a jacket in the wardrobe, staff offered to send this on, but I requested they kept this for me to collect a week later as we were driving past.
The hotels location is fabulous, the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The food was excellent both for breakfast and evening meals. The hotel rooms are beautiful I believe most have a sea view that is exceptional. The towels are so thick and soft. I really couldn't recommend the Bayswell more highly and I can't wait to come back.
Staff was a lovely and very helpful; facilities are nice, modern and clean; the interior of the whole place is stylish and provides a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere; breakfast was provided and there is a book listing all the places to eat in Dunbar at recpetion. The common area has a couple of board games and there is even an outside area!
Our evening meal was very good and our breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Dunbar is a beautiful place and the hotel rooms we occupied had panoramic views which enhanced our stay. The hotel is well situated for coastal walks and easy walking distance to the town centre. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and welcoming.
Location was perfect with lots of walks on the beach and surrounding the golf course towards Dunbar where we stopped off at the Baywater Hotel in the beer garden with the dog. The chalet also had seating areas where you can get the sun all day. Everything you need in the chalet plus your own parking space which is a bonus.
We absolutely loved staying here and it and Dunbar were highlights of our trip to Scotland. The room was super clean and comfortable with a very nice shower. The hotel's restaurant was top notch for breakfast and dinner, and the bar had a great vibe and patrons. All of the staff were very helpful and professional.
Host was very helpful in providing cot, high chair and big bag of toys for the baby plus milk and a bottle of wine.
Location and view was a real joy.
Dunbar has a pretty historic fishing harbour, with a good range of shops and excellent walks from the apartment
Would strongly recommend.
Probably the best place I've ever stayed just for the views alone. Completely in love with the area and will definitely return. We had a sea view room and what a view to wake up to! Huge bed and a great nights sleep, breakfast lovely too with a lot of choice. Can't wait to stay again.
The caravan was fantastic, really nice and very spacious. We have been to lots of different caravans around the UK and this was the best we’ve been to. Really clean and everything you need. Decking area was fab and the site is lovely. Really great holiday for us and our 3 children.
We needed hotel rooms in the area, and this was the only hotel that had rooms available. Rooms were clean and typical of franchises. Restaurant staff were very pleasant. Food was okay, again typical franchise offerings.
Very clean and spacious... had a nice homely feel to it. The location was fantastic, being just off the high street and a 10 minute walk from Dunbar train station. All the essentials were also provided.
The reason for our stay was to celebrate my grandsons birthday. My daughter and family stay in Dunbar so this location was only 10 minutes from their house also the pool on the site was a bonus.
Location - I was visiting my family who live close by. It is a bit of a walk in to Dunbar High Street (20-30 mins) unless u know the shortcut which takes approximately 15-20).
