Beautiful surroundings and such a lovely team. Breakfast and dinner at the pub was absolutely incredible, so glad we booked 2 nights. The perfect dog friendly escape.

We had the Little John room which was lovely, comfortable and warm. The staff were so helpful and happy to give you the best time. Breakfast was great .

Lovely hotel with a perfect pub with a fireplace downstairs. Fantastic breakfasts, the staff were beyond helpful and fab. Would def recommend to everyone and would come again! Perfect value for the money (I honestly think it might have cost more).

Perfect location in gorgeous Castleton. Very expensive for just one night without breakfast, but it is near to Christmas. Hey ho you only live once

Gorgeous mansion, very helpful and friendly staff, excellent meals, comfortable and spacious room. All was perfect !

1. The room was larger than I had expected. (I booked a single room). Although the room faced the street, I had no problems sleeping even with the window open. 2. A good breakfast menu offering a choice of dishes, using high quality ingredients. 3. A beer garden - the possibility to sit outside.

Everything! It was a brilliant stay. The Room was very clean and comfortable with great touches. Really enjoyed the breakfasts, we ate dinner in both the restaurants which was delicious

We loved everything: how dog friendly the place is, the cleanliness of the rooms, the decorations, the atmosphere, the bar and the restaurant, the ample parking place.

The food, dinner and breakfast we really liked. The staff was really friendly and helpfull.

The room was fantastic! Nice and cosy. The staff was attentive and friendly. There was everything we needed in this room, and even more: we took a bath and enjoyed welcome drinks. The breakfast was also excellent. We would gladly return to this hotel during our next visit to Chatsworth House.

Everything was excellent however the one thing we missed was a lift as we had three heavy suitcases to take upstairs. We were aware of that when we booked and it would ruin the old hotel to do that and a young man helped us up with our cases. The atmosphere, room sizes, cleanliness, service and food were all excellent.

What a pleasant hotel. This is genuinely one of the cosiest hotel experiences we have ever had. With well-renovated, modernised yet still cosy and great-size rooms and excellent staff, this has been an amazing experience for us. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. The pub itself is lively, even with its feeling remote, along with crisp beers and tasty food. We only stayed the night but wish to come back soon as the surroundings offer great access points for stunning hikes in the Peak District.
