Great market town, the Saturday market held in the cobbled square was in full swing and very well attended. Richmond is convenient for the stunning North Yorkshire Dales. Has its own ruined castle and the beautiful river Swale runs through Richmond, lots of independent shops and the most fabulous fish and chips are to be had from the shop in the middle of the square …they are cooked in dripping and were delicious. Lovely town to visit

Richmond is a beautiful little town , with many lovely walks , a fine Norman castle and the river Swale running through it with the Foss Water fall and riverside a nice place to picnic in spring and summer time. Richmond has many nice shops , restaurants and welcoming public houses. It’s sits at the entrance to the Yorkshire Dales with many interesting sights to visit not too far away.

Lovely market town, lots of places to eat and drink, some cheap shops to rummage around, ate at Elixir for lunch, lovely food and huge portions. In the evening we ate in Sunitras, beautiful Thai food. Lovely pleasant place to stay for the weekend. We stayed at the Buck Inn, cheap and cheerful, lovely breakfast.

Richmond has a busy town centre with a variety of shops & places to eat. We found a lovely little cafe that also did gluten free food for me. Take the parking disk provided in the cottage as you will need this to park in the town centre. We also visited the castle, lots to see here, including an indoor collection/display, you do need to be quite fit to get around the castle, there's alot of walking on uneven ground/grass & lots of steps too. We hope to return to Richmond in the future, it's a lovely, old town.

Richmond is a lovely market town, with a ruined Norman castle, dating from the earliest days of the Norman conquest, seat of the Earls of Richmond, the last being Henry VII, before he elevated it to a Dukedom. There is also a Georgian Theatre, which has live performances throughout the year. Richmond is at the entrance to Swaledale and there are many walks, including the coast to coast walk that pass through Richmond or close by.

Parking is a nightmare, having to move car to a different street every 2hrs between 0800 and 1800. Loads of pubs all selling the same beer, no variation between pubs, best pint and food in weatherspoons, in my opinion

Helen and Mark were fabulous hosts and we couldn't have asked for better service! Location was perfect for a wedding we were attending close by. Room was small but very comfortable, and really good value for money. Breakfast was very tasty - freshly cooked Full English with tea and coffee and choice of juices. The hotel itself is lively in the evening with a DJ, but they do have a curfew and it didn't disturb us at all. Richmond is a lovely small town with the castle, market and lots of great pubs to enjoy.

Gill was extremely helpful and friendly. An excellent English breakfast was served, our room was huge with tea/coffee etc plus wardrobe in a room off the bedroom and another room with the ensuite bathroom. It was very quiet and we enjoyed a lovely view from our room. Richmond was less than a mile I would say and very easy to get to in the car. If we are in the area again, we will definitely book Low Gingerfield Farm.

Great location for exploring North Yorkshire. Lovely large bedrooms and bathroom perfect for our family of 5. Small but fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable and cosy lounge diner. Very pretty street and an easy (uphill) walk into Richmond. Plenty of on street parking. We had a fun Halloween weekend and found the property good value for what we paid.

Wonderful place for a break. The flat is well equipped, warm and comfy. It also has a nice big TV and fast wifi! We wouldn't hesitate to come here again. It is also right in the middle of Richmond, which is one of the most beautiful small towns in England. And even though it's central we found it to be a really quiet spot.

The cottage was great, very comfortable, with all that we needed and we were glad it was cool in the very hot weather! The location was good, about 10 minutes walk into the centre of Richmond. Parking was right outside the cottage and it was quiet, away from the main road.
