The apartment was clean and spacious with great facilities and a beautifully maintained and peaceful garden. There is a small shop next door and the beach is only a 10 minute walk. I only spent two nights but would have loved to spend longer as it's in an ideal spot to relax and explore West Gambia at will. Hadiza and her daughter were brilliant hosts, very welcoming and helpful.

Gambia is a very rustic place and even for Africa, a little remote and rural. Sarah's place is like an oasis, and Sarah very easy to work with and just a nice person. The hotel is small but very nice, with nice common areas and large, clean rooms with a refrigerator and hot pot, which you can't always assume in Africa. I was picked up at the airport, the food was very good at the hotel and the staff exceedingly nice and efficient. Sarah is usually around a some time during the day, when she isn't out buying the fish or vegetables at the market for the kitchen. She's a Brit but lived in Gambia for a long time, so also a big help in planning where to go and what to do. And always quick to respond by WhatsApp. Honestly, I can't imagine staying anywhere else if I go back.

Incredibly welcoming staff that made me feel at home right away. Delicious and generous breakfast. Beautiful design and views of the local village, surrounded by greenery. Spacious rooms, hot showers, with delicious breakfasts and a cute bar. Cannot recommend staying here enough.

    Brufut is perfect for a more relaxed holiday. Only a 10 min drive from the busier tourist area but far enough away to be able to relax in comfort without being hounded by Hawkers trying to sell you everything all the time.

    I was in Brufut for 20 days this trip.

    I was in Brufut for 20 days this trip. EVERY day the power went out. Make sure you book at a place with a back-up generator or you will be miserable. There will be no air, no fan, no wi-fi, no TV, no lights, and very, very hot. Make sure to see if there are excessive bugs in your unit.

    Hello there, Thank you so much for having me in your wonderful hotel. I have enjoyed every single minute of my stay at Ocean Villa Heights hotel, the room was comfortable, shower fantastic, breakfast was great and food was brilliant. Many thanks to Abdullah, Bebe, Muhammad the security man, Malang, Mbassi and the energetic girls cleaning the rooms and hotel. The hotel made my short visit to The Gambia so enjoyable, I will definitely come back in the future God willing. Thank you all, you have been amazing 😍😍😍 Mamoon

    Hibiscus House is a lovely family-run hotel in Brufut village. I would describe it as a peaceful oasis surrounded by wildlife. Sarah and colleagues are extremely welcome and hospitable. As well as the excellent setting and comfortable rooms, Hibiscus House has a great menu and everything that you need to relax after a long day at work when on a business trip. I highly recommend it!

    We had a wonderful time at Dabo House. They are close to the beach, have a pool, free wifi, AC and a fan (for some hotels you have to pay extra for those) and breakfast was included. The staff was very attentive and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is good because it is not the touristy area so you are not harassed by people trying to sell you stuffs.
