Staff, location, and view! Amazing staff. From the moment we arrived, everyone was very polite, professional and went out of their way to make sure we had a memorable stay. Thank you Dimitri, Pano, Elli and the rest of the team! Very good breakfast with a lot of options to choose from. Location is breathtaking. Great views, very quiet and one of the best spots to watch the sunset and enjoy your drink. It is also a short drive to many nice beaches in the southern part of Santorini.

The view was UNBELIEVABLE. The staff was so helpful and kind.
I would 100 percent stay again, and reccomend it to anyone. Especially if you're looking to get away from the touristy part of the island.
(But you can get to Fira by public bus for 2 Euros, so it's perfectly accessible)

It was INCREDIBLE. The privacy but also the care taken of us was exceptional! Kristina was terrific at reaching out before our stay for any questions we might have, upon arrival she took excellent care of us while they were finishing up getting our room ready because we arrived earlier than expected. Collins brought our bags up to our room, he also brought us all our food while we stayed there and when I say this gentleman was so kind and had such a happy personality, I mean it he was exceptional. Last but not least the woman who kept our place so clean and tidy was Becky, and she did an outstanding job! Coming back each day to our room being spotless and all tidied up was the cherry on top! All around 10/10, and the views and pool were amazing features of this stay!

It's a small quiet village, perfect if you want to avoid the crowds and the loudness of the capital or Oia. Very few options in terms of restaurants but most of them are good.
If you want to get around though, most likely, you'll need a car. The public transport is a mess, in my view. Every trip costs you 2EUR (there's no such thing as day passes), it's cash only (in 2024) and all buses take you to Fira. (There's no direct bus link to other popular locations - like Kamari, or Pyrgos, or Perissa for example). When we went to Perrisa, we took the bus to Fira and we were charged 2EUR each for a 3 km journey. We were dropped off near by a gas station where we waited for a second bus that took us into Perrisa. We were charged again 2EUR each although the driver of the first bus told us we wouldn't. The bus personnel can be quite aggressive, loud and rude. They also pretend they are not understanding if that works in their advantage.
The timetables are not reliable - departures and arrivals have nothing to do with what's displayed on them so you just have to wait at the bus stop and hope for the best. Also your last bus back can be as early as 21:00 or even earlier.
Getting to nearby beaches is also tricky as they have no infrastructure for people who just want to ... walk: you use the same road as the cars do. What I also didn't like (but it's specific for the whole Greece, I suppose) is that they encourage the use of cash. Some restaurants will offer you a discount if you pay in cash; car rentals - the same. I used a local ATM to withdraw 20EUR for the bus. I was charged over 5EUR in fees (3.99 their bank and the rest went to my bank). Wouldn't it be nice to have a nice and reliable and green public transport network on an island which is sunny most of the time?

The local area is good for restaurants, vineyards, activities like boat trips and horse riding. There are some interesting historical sites (castle and bronze age settlement) close by. I really wish we could have stayed for longer than a week to see more of the locality. The bus can be a bit hit and miss, but a really cheap way to access the north of the island, Fira and Oia.

Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village.
Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village. Loved the Venetian castle which has coffee and food. You must visit the ancient city. The locals over all were very friendly and helpful. Please note-there are a lot of homeless animals. Be prepared for it.

The accommodation was superb, staff were amazing, could not have been more helpful.Breakfast absolutely superb.
The town itself only 5 minutes walk and has a range of very good restaurants.
Nice quiet town, good bus service to Fira and very reasonable cost of fare.
Would highly recommend Akrotiri as a resort to stay.
The hotel is in the perfect location in Santorini. It is really quiet and feels like a wellness retreat but then all local towns are close by for food and drinks. The hotel and interior has a calming feel and the views are some of the best on the islands. Food incredible, all staff couldn’t have done any more for us. They were all welcoming, happy and really great people. We travelled the island a fair amount and were always glad to return to the peace and quiet of Coco Mat Hotel and Akrotiri
The owner was very kind, everything was very clean, we could use all the basic things in the apartment. There was enouh of everything. We also got wellcome food for the breakfast.
The best breakfast was 5 min by foot (Akrotiri restaurant), the best dinner was 15 min by foot (Misteli restaurant).
The owner told us about places to visit and things to do and that turned out to be the perfect for us.
The apartment gives you a chance to experience the autentic way of living in Santorini.
We loved everything about the apartment. It’s amazingly designed, super clean and offers all the comfort you could ask for.
We also really liked that it’s located in Akrotiri, away from all the mass tourism in Oia. But as the island is so small, it’s easy to get there by car or scooter.
But besides that Jacob and his family were amazing and so helpful. Thank you very much!
I would highly recommend this accomodation for a trip to Santorini.
Lovely small hotel, out of the hustle and bustle of busier towns in Santorini but still located within walking distance of Akrotiri town with shops and restaurants. Amazing view of the caldera and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location is amazing right beside the sea and in a less touristy/spoilt part of Santorini but in walking distance to restuarants and bus stop right outside. We also walked to the local village of Akrotiri which is also very pleasant
