Mystras Grand Palace Resort & Spa, Euphoria Retreat - A Holistic Wellbeing Destination Spa, and Kyniska Palace Conference & Spa got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Mystras.
Lovely quaint village within walking distance of the ancient archaeological sites, which are stunning. It’s all very hilly to take a taxi to the top gate of the site if you’re feeling lazy - then it’s just up to the castle and then it’s all downhill back through the site and down into town
An amazing ruined city - great for anyone interested in history. We started at the top, walking up to the fortress then down through the city . We did not move our car as some tourist books recommend. The restaurant is outside the site but tickets are valid all day so no problem returning to walk back up - recommend this as you see things from a different perspective going in the opposite direction. There are sufficient information boards. Be aware there is only one toilet on site. Good shoes are a must - these are ruins! Highly recommend.
it was an extraordinary experience to explore this truly wonderful site. The views from the fort at the top, the frescoes and the churches and the general feeling of being a witness to an important part of Greek history.
We stayed two nights in the Mystras Grand Palace Resort and Spa. We had driven down from Pilos and arrived mid-afternoon because we didn't want to rush through this part of Greece. The second day we visited both the upper and lower parts of Mystras Archeological site, which took most of the day. As we were leaving the following day, we visited the museum in Sparti and continued on our journey
beautiful Unesco site and nice village to stay with all you need - hotels restaurant pharmacy, mini market... Beautiful flowers in spring. Must be hot to visit in Summer. I recommend Marmara restaurant with beautiful view.
I've already written a review on this page. It is a "must see". If you love Greece you must know its history live. It is an extraordinary place: fortress, palace and Byzantine churches ... you step on history ... touching
Mystras
This is one of those places where, as you are pulling up, you are so excited and relieved that this is the place you are staying. It is the most beautiful place we saw in the area with a lovely outdoor sitting area where they greet you with a lemonade as you rest and check in. It is nestled off the road on the side of the mountain with gorgeous views of the valley. We rode E-bikes to a river with waterfalls, pools and a rope swing. This was completely unexpected and a highlight of our extensive trip to Greece.
Mystras
fantastic views from 80% of the way up Mount Taygeti looking over valley, Sparta and straight across to Mystra on the next mountain. it was beautiful, peaceful, cute, clean and comfortable. there are no other tourists or cars because you are the highest house on the mountain after 15 minutes up a steep, windy, cliff side road. we stayed for 2 nights to see Mystras but 3 would be the minimum if you want to also enjoy the hikes.
Mystras
Cute rustic style room with modern amenities. The room had a view of Mystras Ancient Site and balcony. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed over Easter and they informed us where we could eat dinner in town. Hotel had a restaurant on site and a good breakfast. Had off street parking available
Amazing facilities, most helpful staff: we arrived during rain hail weather parked outside the gates, they came out with umbrellas for us, took the luggage in and made sure it was rain protected. Breakfast was amazing and we had 2 dinners in their restaurant at night as well.
Great location, very close to the wonderful site of Mystras and a good base for visiting nearby sites such as Monemvasia and the Mani. Quiet. Nice terrace and garden. Clean. Located 200 meters from a friendly local restaurant which serves both breakfast, lunch and dinner.
