We loved everything about our stay: the sound of cicadas, goats, occasionally a goose, maybe distant laughter from the restaurant, the stars at night, a visiting marten, the friendly staff, the delicious breakfast. The restaurant was very good.

Elina was wonderful -- from a friendly welcome to leaving a detailed, hand-written note answering our questions and offering tips for our stay. Winter means many things are closed, but we loved the peaceful walks and enjoyed the local, home cooked food.

Niki and Katerina, the heart and soul of Castell Hotel, go above and beyond to ensure every detail of your stay is perfect. Their passion for hospitality shines through in every interaction, whether it’s offering personalized recommendations for exploring the stunning beaches of Balos, Falassarna, or Elafonisi, or sharing insider tips about local tavernas and hidden gems in Kissamos. Their knowledge of the area is invaluable, and they delivered it with such enthusiasm that it elevated our entire experience. The hotel itself is a gem—spotlessly clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed with comfortable beds, soundproof rooms, and charming balconies offering views of the vibrant Skalidi Square or a glimpse of the sea. The little touches, like the 24/7 coffee and treat corner stocked with fruits, cookies, and amenities, reflect their commitment to guest comfort. I was particularly impressed by the “bring & share” corner, which had everything from toiletries to beach gear—an unexpected and delightful addition. Location is convenient, close enough to the seashore, there are several grocery stores in the neighbourhood. The breakfast was delicious and rich. There is a very nice pool in the hotel. Eleni is a very hospitable and helpful hostess.

Kissamos hotel was one of our favorite stays ever.🧡 Located just a few minutes walk from Kissamos center, close to Balos, Falassarna and Elafonissi beach (top 3 beaches in Crete!), walking distance to bakeries and stores, with parking and pool. This is family owned business, owners are extremely friendly, always available for all questions and requests. Rooms were clean and we had everyone we need for a perfect stay. I would gladly recommend everyone to choose this property for they stay in Crete and we would definitely come back.
