Hotel Alexandros offers fully equipped accommodations in the heart of the city of Volos. Staff was very kind. The location was excellent. In overall was very good value of money.
Volos is a vibrant city w/ plenty of shops, eateries, coffee houses, as well as extensive night life. It's beautiful w/ a close proximity to water/ coastline. The only thing Athens had, as far as transportation that Volos did not was Uber. But maybe that comes in the future. Great city that you might be surprised by.
Beautiful harbor city with a nice pedestrian walkway in the center and a great harbor full of restaurants infront of the sailboats. Great giros, bakery's and Restoran's. It has a big Lidl and some other hipermarkets for supplies before sailing. But it has no good beaches. So it's a good place to start your sailing trip and spending a day before or after it there.
Volos is really a nice town, but not yet a touristic town; I think locals like Volos so as it is, and there are many young students; many nice shops; nice shopping atmoshere; Volos has a port with fresh fish, and very good restaurants, I like the culinary flavors and the excellent cuisine of Volos and Pelion; People are very friendly; I had favourite restaurants Iolkos on the digue, near the Argo ship; and one on the beach, the last beach , EEOxikonKentpon Aypa; locals prefer this restaurants too. There was also a Beach Club to drink somethings, it was very pleasant, modern, nice music, very friendly : Isalos Beach Club, to recommend; Nice to rent a private Taxi (who has a certificate of Excellence of Tripadvisor,) in Volos and visit the Pelion village Makrinitsa., very nice excursion with a fascinating view to Volos.
Dimini is well worth a visit and the museum in Volos is excellent with some very good exhibits from the Neolithic and Mycenaean sites there. The waterfront is great for walking with lots of lively cafes and bars. There are local buses into the Pelion peninsula and the tourist info centre is conveniently opposite the KTEL terminal and next to the local bus station with very helpful staff. There is also a working train station which has a realy pretty building with trains to Athens and Thessaloniki although you have to visit it to check the daily train times on the chalk boards
Volos is the ideal hub to visit skiatos and Skopelos. Volos is not the most easy place to get around by car due one way streets. The restaurants in Volos are excellent for sea food. Look around the port and take one with a lot of locals. Stafylos is a good one. It's near the train station.
We stayed at Anastasia's flat 2 nights. Amazing spacious apartment with all the facilities anyone can expect even at the very small detail. Very clean, view to the sea, comfortable and centrally located in Volos, a few minutes walking distance to the main city spots. Super friendly and helpful host. Highly reccomended!
The hotel was directly on the marine. It was really close to the nice MZen(a place that you order tzipouro and they gove you small portions of appetizers for free, and you can try everithing on the menu ). The hotel had a roof bar, with a stunning view.
The hotel was very clean and close to the beach. Staff was helpful. They were ready to do our check in after official hours and were very welcoming. Definitely would go again.
Very friendly welcoming. Well prepared receptionist, good english skills. We also liked the small parking lot(being close to the hotel)and the hotel close to the beach.
Standard hotel in the center of Volos. We stayed only one night to take the ferry in the morning. The room was clean and staff gentle
The location with the view of the port from the balcony. Public parking nearby and in the front of the hotel. Good for transit!

Hotel is very close to the port
The hotel is conveniently located, very close to the sea, within a walking distance from the port and city beach, on the route to the mountain villages of Pelion. The best thing is the breakfast buffet, rich and tasty. Rooftop bar is also worth mentioning. Thirty years ago it was definitely a 4 star hotel.
Staff was very kind. The location was excellent. In overall was very good value of money. I would highly recommend.
