My thoughts on Candidasa are really not valid, as I was on the second flight from Melbourne to Bali after a 2+ year break. As a consequence, there were VERY few tourists, mine was the only occupied room of 22 at Puri Oka, many restaurants weren't open, and the place was generally depressed. I can't mark any establishment down because of the circumstances, and equally I can't give a positive to any establishments for the same reason. Those places that are open are doing their best under very trying circumstances, and I hope the volume of tourists increases dramatically, and fast.
We love Candidasa and have stayed there before. It is a great little town on the beach in East Bali. Very quiet so very relaxing. There are plenty of nice resorts, restaurants, supermarkets, souvenir shops. You can have day trips to Amed Beach, White Sand Beach or the Water Temple.
Although the villas are lovely, clean and well presented, if you're looking for a quiet stay, this place is located on a major busy road with constant road noise. We can't fault the friendly staff, or the clean rooms, and great restaurant....and Candidasa is worth taking time to stay there and explore the area. Definitely visit Virgin beach...a piece of paradise. Balissa restaurant across main road, also has exceptional meals and great service.
A traditional fishing town/village that although has the main coastal road running through it, is not the chaotic frenzy of other Balinese townships. A range of shops, cafes, restaurants including a great jazz bar called Vincent’s , and a dam fine coffee at Wacky Jackys fabric emporium. A lovely big Lilly pond that locals also swim and fish in, and many dive and snorkel trip companies. I spent a week here at Aquaria eco resort, and would happily return to rest, relax and explore more. Easy to walk around the village and surround, felt safe at night and plenty of transport available if you want it- even a local bus service.
It is not a beautiful city/village; busy traffic. We went snorkeling at Blue Lagoon which was nice. If you have a car, you can travel from this area to water palace etc. but Candidasa itself is not worth visiting.
It was great value and neat and tidy. Staff were lovely, I’d recommend renting a scooter as it is out of the way, which we loved. Lots of great little warungs with great good, don’t let appearances deceive you, really great food all over
Candidasa
This is an awesome resort! The staff here work very hard to keep things clean and take care of their guests. The resort is fist class, right on the beach. They have three restaurants and three times a week they have a buffet. Seafood on monday, Balinesian food Wednesday with local dancers that are very good. BBQ on Friday. I think this is the nicest place you will find in Bali. Better than a five star resort.
Candidasa
Very nice hotel about a 800m walk to restaurants. The staff are amazing. You can do yoga, have massages, water sports easily arranged through hotel. If you want the opposite of Kuta and a true Bali experience this is the place to start. Breakfast is simple but extremely healthy and delicious. The gardens absolutely spectacular and beach is walking distance. We look forward to returning to villarossa
Candidasa
Villa Gumamela is simply stunning and was the perfect base for our holidays in Bali. It was so nice waking up in the morning and have a swim in the huge pool while overlooking the ocean. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. The property is sparkling clean and well maintained. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back and recommend it to others
Everything was absolutely amazing. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at in Bali. The rooms were 5 star, sparkling clean and super comfortable, the staff and restuarant were superb, great breakfast by the pool with ocean views also. Sagara was so good we extended our stay!!

Such a relaxed and well attended place. My room was delicious and private garden with outdoor bathroom - true Balinese style. The staff were all very professional and so helpful. The grounds were lush and immaculate surrounding the gorgeous pool.
Candidasa
Stunning location and access to the beach are the only two reasons to stay here. We had large bungalow behind the ocean view villas. The room is huge and there’s plenty of storage. The garden is beautiful and pool is lovely and mostly sunny.
Candidasa
Lovely location on the beach. Hard to swim as the beach is crushed coral, but beautiful to walk out on their jetty. Excellent food in their Lezat restaurant, very attentive service. Also Bali dancing on Tuesdays.

We stayed for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The accommodation was beautiful. Rustic and simply designed which added to it's charm. Our own private patio overlooking the sea. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Such a peaceful place to rest and unwind. Great gift shop too, with many unique crafts that you won't find anywhere else in Bali. Will definately stay again.
Candidasa
This place was great. The staff was so friendly - amazing. Candidasa is a very quiet place, but if you have have a scooter, which the hotel helps you with, its possible to see a lot of great things. Perfect view of the water by the pool. The room was very nice - good bed, clean rooms, good aircon, hot water in the shower. We would come back here, mainly because of the staff.
