Treacys Oakwood Hotel is located in the heart of Shannon’s town center, next to the Skycourt shopping center and only 3.2 mi drive from the Shannon Airport. Despite arriving in the middle of the night the concierge was extremely helpful and friendly. Daytime staff great as well, taking care of my requests immediately. I was surprised by a very high standard of the hotel itself, especially well-thought-out and interestingly designed hall and corridors. Room was fine, bathroom a little old, but all was in perfectly good shape and functioned perfectly.
Set in Bunratty, The Carriage Houses at Beechpark House offers a garden. Bunratty Castle & Folk Park is 1.7 mi from the property. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms were amazing, so much effort has gone in to making the stay memorable. Kevin the owner is one of a kind and has time for everyone, he gave us a lift to Durty Nellies and was a great host. Also had 4 poster bed!
Determine sites you want to visit and time involved before you go. Ireland is a zero tolerance country for drinking and driving so set your agenda to reflect that and stay in places where you can walk to pubs and eateries.
We actually arrived at Shannon Airport, but traveled the Connemara area for several days and spent a couple of days in Dublin. Everyone, especially loved Galway, biking on Inis Mor island and we visited Ashland Castle. All were great.
We didn’t experience Shannon but stayed at Bunratty for a break before resuming our trip much further on. We stayed 2 nights in Bunratty which offered the right combination of food, music , sightseeing and accommodations.
The close proximity to the Shannon Airport was a major consideration as to why I booked with you. Food was outstanding as I had dinner the evening before I left and breakfast the morning I departed Shannon for location two hours to the north. Good place to stay and I would stay here again and recommend to friends and family heading this way.
Shannon Town is not particularly interesting. However, we had a lovely day in Bunratty which is a 10 minute taxi ride. Toured the castle and park Enjoyed dinner at Durty Nellie's, est. 1620. We ate at Old Lodge Pub at Shannon Springs Hotel across the street from our bed and breakfast. Very good. Nice atmosphere.
We spent 5 weeks traveling Ireland. We joined a tour after three weeks in different parts of Ireland. We began and ended our tour in Shannon. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there seeing Shannon and places nearby.
The setting and the décor. It had the feel of everything and more that I would wish for in a country hotel in Ireland. The delicious, nutritious breakfast and the setting for it, with nature right out the window, was awesome.
Great location for a quick stay before or after Shannon airport trips. Beds were comfortable and rooms were a decent size. The pub is great, delicious food and great service. Hotel breakfast was phenomenal as well.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and there were small amenities that made the place cozy. I would recommend this place especially if you need to be close to the Shannon airport.
Everything. This hotel is worth 50% more than whatI paid. Beautiful, well kept, friendly staff. It’s proximity to the airport could only be more convenient if it was as attached by a door.
Very friendly hosts . Clean and tidy place close to Shannon Airport .
