Offering direct access to some of the desert trails, Desert Call is located in Arad. The B&B has a garden and accommodations with air-conditioning and free WiFi access. This was the best property I stayed at in Israel. This is a tiny family-owned bed and breakfast with gorgeous terrace and a beautiful desert view. I definitely recommend to add breakfast to your booking. The owners handcook it and it’s really lush! Breakfast included omelette, vegetables, salads, tahina, numerous types of cheese, deserts with granola. They serve you a breakfast right on the terrace. The room is spatious and there is a comfortable jakoozi inside. The owners are very friendly, we felt like we came to visit our family! And Masada is about 20 mins drive away.

We visited Masada and the Dead sea. We didnt see much of Arad. Massada was impressive And Dead sea was rather a disappointment. We wanted to visit places by the Dead sea where we had been 5 years ago but they dont exist anymore (because of erosion, landslides and huge sink-holes). Places are abondened and only rubbish left. Very sad..
Arad served me as the perfect stop before my Masada sunrise experience. For this, it' perfectly located and large enough to go to a nice bar and eat out. It's not scenic, however. It seems to be a great alternative to Ejn Bokek as Arad is a bit farther away from the Dead Sea.
Arad is a dull city, maybe "super dull". But for people who enjoy sports in nature, what a sensational place to base your activities! The location is stunning, Masada and the Dead Sea are 35 minutes away by car, and Arad turns out t have a major artistic side. Plus, it was very quiet.
Fantastic location for get aways: to Masada, Ein Gedi (Dead See), Ein Avdat National Park or the the majestic Makhtesh Ramon. Also, interestig to see city built in the middle of a desert and a daily lifestyle of its citizens. Wonderful views on a dessert.
Good base for visiting Masada. There are great spots for star watching around with little light pollution. (well, there is still some... but it's not that bad). "Muza" restaurant is good for lunch and dinner (open on Shabat), but avoid breakfasts there.
Great base for those who have been to Israel before and want to try some different views and hikes in the desert. Easy to go on hikes from the view points in the city. Easy to get to the roman ramp of Masada. A few places open on shabbat, but most of the city is shut down. There is an Aroma opened on shabbat, plenty of local markets. Beautiful drive down to the Dead Sea and Ein Boqeq and this takes about 25 minutes, but is a fun drive. Tel Arad is 5-10 minute drive away, impressive ruins.

Location was great, near the desert and the dead sea. The house is in a quiet location in the city of arad. The apartment was extremely clean and had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. He even did a Jeep tour with us that amazing more than we could have ever asked for. Overall it was a great stay. Thanks and again and we will surely return.

They went out of their way to welcome us, we had some biscuits waiting for us on arrival, tea coffee and milk. Just what a weary traveler needs! Honestly if you staying in Arad, I cannot rate this place and its people more!!!

I stayed for one night and I loved the experience - going to desert is a must do. The complex is very nice, clean with everything you need. The staff is polite and helpful. I loved that they do have activities there: camel ride (we missed the camel ride in the evening, but in the morning was also great), the talk with bedouin woman was very informative and a night walk into the desert with a nice guide was the best surprise ever. In the morning we went to see the sunrise at Masada because it is a 20 min drive. The food was very tasty.
