Hotel Fludir is just 20 minutes’ drive from the Great Geysir and Gulfoss Waterfall. It offers Wi-Fi internet access. All rooms have wooden floors and a patio with garden access. The view of Langjokull Glacier from the dining room and terrace is unparalleled. As well the elevation from the property allows for an excellent vantage point to view and take pictures of the Aurora. During our stay they were blazing over the glacier in orange (condition which occurs when the levels of neon are excited). Fabulous! The dinner was also excellent and the staff both helpful and personable. As well the two thermal baths in the interior courtyard are a welcome respite after a day on the road or in the evening. Also a great place for Aurora viewing. Fludir offers a great approach to both Pingvellir and Geysir on roads that are not over travelled by tour buses.

Great staff, clean and cozy rooms, hot tub available at property and the accommodation located near a town, but in a peaceful part with no noice. It was quiet and breathtakingly beautiful. The accommodations were clean and spacious enough. It is a great jumping off point for exploring Pingvellir and Geysir from a different approach as well as the South Coast. Another option would be if your flight arrives in early morning and you are renting a vehicle to explore the Reykjanes Peninsula finishing up in Fludir in the afternoon, check in and relax in the Hotel's two outdoor thermal tubs, then enjoy a spectacular dinner in their dining room while enjoying an unparalleled view of the Langjokull Glacier from the dining room and if you are lucky and the conditions are good the Aurora Borealis from either there or the terrace.
go to the mushroom farm for lunch. If i go back I will not stay the night. The big draw here is the, once, secret lagoon. With the bus traffic it had become very crowded and has lost its magic, I’ve got nothing against their continued success and feel lucky to have been there before when it was hard to find.
Fludir is a really small town, just a few places to eat and a few places to stay. However, I found it to be charming. The big draw for Fludir is the Secret Lagoon, a natural hot spring. If you do the Golden Circle, you can easily hit Fludir after Gullfoss or Geysir. It's perfect to soak away all that walking!
Peaceful town and friendly people. Good as a station to explore the Golden Circle area. All within a short drive. If you are done with the natural phenomena, you can stretch your legs and have a walk across the town. You will enjoy the peace. So worth it. Not only that, you may also ride the Icelandic horses and explore the other side of the volcanic island. So beautiful and breathtaking.
Fludir is literally in the middle of nowhere, which is just what we wanted! ;) We saw the Northern Lights both nights we stayed. The Secret Lagoon is there, which I highly recommend. Also, I recommend the Fridheimar tomato farm which is about 15 minutes down the road for a lovely lunch
Not much there! But don't miss the "secret lagoon" which is a 2 minute drive, right in town. SO much better than the Blue Lagoon! No luck with aurora this visit, but it's dark enough.

The guesthouse was wonderful! We only stayed one night, but Silke gave us lots of great suggestions, even told us about the local hot spring that her grandfather in-law built to wash sheep since the Secret Lagoon was closed by the time we arrived. So we got to spend the evening sitting out in an old hot spring under the stars, perfect for our first night in Iceland! The guesthouse was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed in the kitchen to make breakfast. Thanks Silke for a great stay!

This was my favorite place I stayed in Iceland. Its tucked away on a nice horse farm. Super quiet. Beds are so comfortable. All the amenities you need to cook. The owners are so thoughtful. Checked it to make sure we were okay. Told us we could pet the horse farms. If you are doing the Golden Circle I highly highly recommend staying here and going to the Secret Lagoon. I wish I had stayed here more nights.

The house was very clean. Located well at the top north part of the Golden Circle stretch and there was a great restaurant in walking distance on the property. The restaurant also had a full golf range and club rental if that interests you.
