Hotel Vecchia Marina is just 320 yards from the sandy beach at Porto Frailis. It is surrounded by a garden with a patio and provides free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Location is strategic, just a stroll from the Red Rocks. Room was very clean with a garden where we could relax after a day spent in those nearby amazing beaches. Staff was really nice and helpful. The breakfast was maybe one of the best we ever had and those croissants are to die for. Highly recommended to everyone.

Surrounded by Mediterranean bush, Il Vecchio Mulino is a 10-minute walk from Porto Frailis Bay. Absolutely amazing hotel. I dont even know where to start with the compliments. If you are looking for a hotel in Arbatax/Tortoli search no more. Beautiful rustical design, so beautifully clean and taken care of, amazing staff (reception, maids, etc) - everyone was so lovely, pleasant and caring with a smile on their faces. This hotel really made us feel we are welcomed, truly welcomed, not just out of politeness but truly from the heart of the employees. Best shower ever I found in any hotel - great water pressure and water temperature. Also this hotel had a beautiful terrace with flowers and plants. So cozy and cute. Amazing breakfasts outside in a garden again full of flowers and plants. And we cant forget about the amazing "porter" this hotel has. A lovely silver cat that is always around the entrance being cute and fluffy ♥️ I havent found a single negative thing I could say about this hotel and believe me when I say Im hard to please when it comes to hotels. Much love to everybody in this hotel. If I ever am in Arbatax again you are my pick♥️

This 3-star superior hotel is 0.9 mi from Arbatax harbor and 5 minutes’ drive from Tortolì city center. It offers free Wi-Fi, free parking, and an outdoor swimming pool. It's a very lovely, small hotel with an excellent garden & pool area. We used it as base for our Motocycle holiday. Very clean inside and outside. Cosy, italian style and really pretty and large rooms. The breakfast was just perfect - croissants, pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruits, granola, buns, toast, cakes and a lot more. Everything delicious and fresh. But most of all I'd like to commend the staff - you are the best! Very friendly, helpful and attentive. Ciao Stefania & mille grazie for all your help! <3

Arbatax is rather small and not extremely interesting. It has some very good restaurants (Taratasciar, A Volonta). Also, nice beaches, not very crowded in September. It is great as a starting point for trips: Jeep tours (Gennargentu, Altopiano del Golgo), boat tours (Costa Baunei), or simply driving on the spectacular SS 125 to Dorgali and visiting S'abba Frisca (museum farm).
There's a lot of spectacular natural beauty here to explore. From beautiful beaches to red rocks, one of the largest caves in all of Italy, and plenty of nearby towns with their own charm. I highly recommend a boat tour, but make sure you book with a small group so you don't end up on one of those ferries with over 100 people crammed in like cattle. Also, be sure to spend some time exploring the interior!
They show a picture of a beautiful beach, when in effect when you see it in person it is a 20' by 3' section of a fake sandy beach between a bunch of rocks where nobody really swims. some lounge chairs stuck up on rocks away from the fake beach. the so called rooms are reachable if you are Mountain Goat and all scattered along the mountain side. the rooms have no working A/C none that you can control. To call the reception for help is useless. The phones don't work or there are no instructions on how to use them. The TV screen is the size of a Laptop computer and no instructions on what you can get or not get. There is a MAP of the Resort. A used one is shown to you by the receptionist. A copy is not given to you and if you ask they say they have no more copies left. I have been in many All inclusive Resorts. This is the worse ever .
It is a beautiful place, but unfortunately completely isolated from the outside world. We had a car, but the parking lot was far away and we had to take a shuttel. They didn't even have a map of the area at the reception and the internet went pretty bad. We had an old unreconstructed room, which surprised us a lot, because there were completely different photos on the menu. We arrived in the evening and had a big problem getting access to the restaurant because it was full. They did not suit us that the restaurants have exact opening times and in the meantime you can hardly eat anywhere / the surrounding restaurants outside the resort are far away. The dinners were very tasty, but the breakfast was the same every day. In the end, we got used to the outdated accommodation and restaurant system and we enjoyed our stay. The resort is huge and you have to accept its rules.
From our experience, Arbatax has not a lot to offer. Some parts seem really industrial and it is far away from being a beautiful spot to stay. It is quite practical if you want to to a boat tour to different beaches but you could possibly start the tour from other locations as well. We would not recommend to stay there if you want to see authentically sardegna.
We stayed 5 nights in Albatrax and there is a lot to explore. The car is a must as the distances between the good beaches are a few hours away ( 2 hours on average ) We have totally underestimated the size of the island! If you like fresh, local seafood the COOP. PESCATORI STELLA MARIS at the marina is a must-visit!! Self-serve, down-to-earth restaurant with simple seating outdoor with local women cooking traditional Sardinian dishes. All seafood is freshly caught by local fishermen and you can taste it! It was a highlight of our stay here. Oh, and gelato at the marina! The local beach is not the most beautiful ( pebbles, too small with lots of people ) and we highly recommend arranging day trips instead by boat for '' beach hopping '' and cave exploration. The most incredible beaches are on the East ( only accessible by boat ) and South ( Villasimus is incredible, white sand and all ... ). If you can, plan ahead with boat trips and restaurant reservations especially if you are here in high season ( August ).

Very nice family resort in an amazing location. Turquoise sea with sandy beach but especially the staff of the hotel make it a unique stay. Although it's a very large resort the employees make it special. From the kids club team to the sports facilities and trainers as well as the waiters and reception will make your whole family feel at home.
Welcoming kind staff. Extremely clean and organized for Covid-19 rules. No cop-outs or excuses. Offered lots of services safely. Perfect position, nice big comfortable room and bathroom, not to mention the big delicious varied breakfast. 5 stars all around! Grazie Hotel Vecchia Marina!

We loved the location of the hotel, set up on top of the hill the view from the terrace for breakfast or dinner, and from our room and the pool was absolutely amazing! The breakfast buffet was great and the staff were always on hand to help with anything.

Location: great place in Arbatax which is lovely and close to several interesting places / beaches. 5 min walk from the first beach. Very nice hostess who did her best to provide anything we asked. Clean and safe.
Lovely hotel with spacious room and AC. Enjoyed the breakfast and while we never got a chance to use it, the pool was clean and very inviting. Hotel staff was very accommodating and helped with bookings and directions.

The location of the hotels in the green park is amazing. The rooms are in traditional Sardinian style comfy and stay cool on sunny days either without AC. The staff is really nice and helps to deal with any requests.
The location is fantastic. The rooms and whole village are in traditional Sardinian style with original Architectural features and furniture. One of the most characteristic and charming hotel we have ever stayed at.
Beautiful hotel, easily accessible, breathtaking pool area, friendly staff and stylish interior. The restaurant was a tiny expensive albeit the fish were fresh as can be and food quality was good.
The breakfast and the atmosphere at the hotel.
