Hotel I Due Foscari is in the small town of Busseto, around a 30-minute drive from Parma, Piacenza and Cremona. It offers free parking, free WiFi. A fine Italian hotel old style. delightfully un-restored and authentic. For opera lovers a must stay. Your host will be the son of the great tenor Carlo Bergonzi who owns the hotel. Next door to Busetto's opera house the location couldn't be better. For classy people who aren't fussy.
With a garden and a shared lounge, Corte degli Angeli Società Agricola e Agrituristica is located in Busseto and provides free WiFi. We and our friends were lucky to stay at this charming converted farm estate for 5 nights. The location is perfect to explore the towns of Lombardy and Emilia–Romagna. After our day trips out to visit Mantua, Cremona, Modena and Parma, we loved coming back to our country home! The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious & immaculately clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable, the setting is peaceful and idyllic. Amazing breakfasts included coffee made to order, locally made salami & cheeses, bread, fresh fruit and delicious home baked goodies served at a rustic wooden table set with beautiful dishes and fresh flowers daily. Milly and Alessandro are wonderful hosts who looked after our every need, from leaving an umbrella outside our door on rainy days to helping us pay a parking fine. As others have mentioned, we were also treated to a tour of the property where much of the Bertolucci film ‘1900’ was shot. For all this, we would have felt we had good value at twice the price! Definitely a highlight of our trip, we leave with many fond memories of our stay. Thanks to Milly and Alex for restoring and sharing their labour of love!
Agriturismo Le Colombaie is located in Besenzone, 2.5 mi from Busseto and 19 mi from Piacenza. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. The warm welcome from the owner, upon arrival, which extended everyone we met in our short stay. Rooms were very comfortable with everything we needed provided. Breakfast was wonderful, and outside spaces lovey.
Featuring a restaurant and a garden, Alleroncole is a located in Le Roncole, just 328 feet from Giuseppe Verdi’s birthplace. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Busseto: Alle Roncole Ristorante con Locanda. In a small town outside of Busseto, Roncole-Verdi, you’ll find this quiet B&B-plus restaurant, a perfect place to eat, or stay if you are going to the opera in Busseto. You can watch their pizzaiolo from Napoli make your order in their wood fired oven. Our room was a superior double on the first floor. The bed was a renaissance revival style-the room sported wooden furniture, fabric swags and tassels. Screen equipped windows! Huge bathroom! The lovely man who ran the place made us feel at home. So why go there? It’s all about opera! The surrounding area is the birth place of Giuseppe Verdi and the place where Giovanni Guareschi, author of the series of books, of the beloved “Don Camillo and Prepone”, had lived since 1952 until his death. You can visit Villa Verdi (and garden) by a guided tour, in Italian and possibly in English. Best to reserve in advance.
Wonderful classic Italian village, best to schedule when performances at Teatro Verdi. Terrific, almost elegant, pizza on the piazza overlooking Teatro and Verdi’s statue. For us, a wonderful Fall evening under the Full Moon.
Any devoted fan of Giuseppe Verdi must visit at least once in their life. The food is fantastic, the Verdi related museum's (and the Tabaldi museum) around the area make for a fascinating and relaxed 3 or 4 day visit. Excellent bike only path to Roncole Verdi from Busseto. The very atmospheric I Due Foscari Hotel is owned by the the children of the great tenor Carlo Bergonzi so staying there adds an unforgettable touch to the experience.
Only bicycles and nothing else for tourists without cars. Not a good place for visitors with limited mobility. One of the larger museums was closed for summer vacation as was the main hotel in the center. Limited restaurants but of good quality but their open hours are limited to lunch @ noon and dinner @ 7 or latter.
Very easy to walk or cycle around, lots of culture (birth place of the composer, Verdi). Ice cream to die for. Friendly people and excellent opportunities to practice and improve your Italian as English not widely spoken.

Old style quirky hotel (with modern en-suite facilities) with pleasant friendly owners and very good traditional restaurant. It also has a separate pizza restaurant. Only approx 15 mins from Turin-Parma autostrada. In the village is the birthplace of Verdi, which is now a small museum.
