I had a wonderful and relaxing visit to Laino Borgo. Palias is a lovely family hotel. I had a balcony where I could hear the river Loa and overlook the town. The mountains and river are definitely where to go to stay cool and relaxed in the middle of summer. I enjoyed delicious coffee and pastries for breakfast and had two excellent dinners. I can’t decide If I liked the cod or the gnocchi better! I finished dinner with this amazing pistachio gelato! The host went out of his way to help me and guide me to interesting local spots. He was above and beyond kind, patient, and generous. I can’t wait to tell other New Yorkers about this get away!

We were there one night on a bike tour. Host Stefano was extremely helpful and found a great solution for our dietary wishes at breakfast. We were a bit unlucky in having lost a phone underway, but he kindly offered to take the car to help us look for it. Then, when one of the bikes broke down, he asked his father to help us out, which worked out great. Also we got a little extension on the check-out time to help avoid the heavy rain.

    We didn't see much to be honest - the town is an hour from Pompeii - so a great stop after being or going to this famous historic archaeological site. Well worth a relaxing morning or afternoon walk. there are a few exciting things to do but we were en-route. However, the very narrow roads are exciting in themselves!
