Malcesine is a great little village and Hotel Malcesine had some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Be aware that the gondolier to Monte Baldo is incredibly inefficient and you can spend over an hour waiting to get onto the gondolier and even more getting back Having said that I would absolutely recommend going up Baldo for the breathtaking views. Castle worth a visit views from Tower are awesome / too many lovely restaurants and coffee shops to name ! Loved swimming in lake past the castle ! Malcesine is a busy town spread down the east side of the lake. It has a frequent bus service which is not expensive and easier than trying to find somewhere to park! There is a wide range of hotel accommodation to suit most budgets. The beaches are pebbly, but the water is very clear so great for swimming or just cooling off. My second time visiting Malcesine, the best place to be if you're wanting a town with a buzz and plenty of activities. Malcesine is great place to stay on Lake Garda. The old town area is full of places to visit including a fabulous castle. Lake ferries come and go all day and give visitors the opportunity to explore other towns around the lake. There are dozens of restaurants, bars and shops to explore and ice cream lovers are well catered for. The cable car ride up to Mont Baldo is a must with fantastic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Cobbled streets require sensible comfy footwear.Guest review byDoyle

Very good location if you want to travel around the best destinations at Garda Lake. In the room we had GREAT lake view and the balcony. The hotel has the fantastic location for breakfast. The food in the morning is also very good. Especially we enjoyed the cappuccino. Malcesine is just 10 minutes walk. Riva del Garda is just 15 minutes ride. The hotel has a convenient private parking. It is about a 15 minute stroll along the lake into the centre of Malcesine. The owner met us and gave us some great recommendations of places to eat and things to do. She also gave us a map and pointed out different places to visit. Each apartment was located a parking space on the grounds so we were confident that our rental was safe.
