It was just like a postcard from Austria, swiss style chalets and breathtaking mountains all around. Make sure you walk to the old church right there and the first behind it. There are some gems in there.
Lots of mountains and different gletchers to see/visit/walk on. Cable cars, chair-lifts etc all around. Some pretty good restaurants too (see trip advisor) And close to Stelvio pass (a must do :) ) Only downside to notice is when it is raining as there are not a lot of indoor options around
Beautifully located in a valley, surrounded by mountains, Solda is a quiet and small town where you can enjoy nature and relax. Excellent skiing slopes, though probably too few for really enthusiastic skiers. Prices of hotels are generally great value for money. Cost of living is what you can expect of Italy. Plenty of places with really great food.
The scenery is breathtaking and in the summer there are plenty of hiking routes and two chair lifts, to get into the mountains. We stayed at Hotel Cristallo which was superb and would definitely recommend going half board, partly because the food was excellent but also because being in Solda at the beginning of the summer season, the town was only just starting to open up.
Solda is a beautiful alpine village with plenty of hiking paths in summer. We stayed only one night but would have loved to have had longer to explore the area. We ate in Hotel Mignon which was very excellent in every respect. There are lifts to take you up into the high mountain areas and the village is peaceful with quiet roads. The views are magnificent and if you don't like walking you could sit on your balcony in the sun all day and admire the mountains.
