A wonderful host and home. We stayed in a room that accommodated 4 people in Japanese styled bedrooms. A traditional home, it was a beautiful experience. The hostess was so helpful, accommodating and warm. She helped ensure we had the best stay and got to know the local restaurants and shops. Would stay here again!

Owner truly help you. She is best, and the place is great value. Awesome area that somehow has few tourist yet. The town is between mt. Aso, and the large mountains area that has waterfalls and pure nature/small vilages. Local shrines are amazing! Tge house is a houndred years old japanesse home, that the real thing!!

Really lovely couple running this newly renovated guest house. So kind, friendly and helpful. We stayed there for one night before hiking around Mt. Aso. Great location if you’re looking for a stop on a road trip in Kyushu. Bring cash!

Accomodation was a beautiful log cabin in the Miyazaki countryside! The facilities were clean and modern, and the bed was so comfortable!! There were so many thoughtful touches, like having spare pairs of crocs outside the cabin, having salt and cooking oil in the kitchen, having tea and coffee sachets. You can also park directly in front of your cabin which is very convenient. We reserved the course dinner offered by the host and it was delicious!! The host was also the chef (and the bartender) and we had a great time chatting to him in English and Japanese about the locally sourced ingredients and his very well-stocked bar. Thanks for such a lovely night Keita!! Next time we will need to stay even longer, so we can use the fireplace and enjoy more of the peaceful countryside. We had a wonderful stay, highly recommend El Campo.

Everything was good quality… down to the tea towels. The old store room was well converted with double glazed windows and thoughtful features. The communication with the owner was excellent. We were a little late arriving but the owner met us to show us around. We loved sitting outside looking at the night sky and stars in the evening. The shower was fabulous and the beds were comfy and warm.

the staff were great, we ended up arriving a day late because our rental car got cancelled, and they very kindly refunded us for the night we weren’t there. they were also great at responding quickly to any questions we had. we rented a bbq too and they were fantastic and brought it to our cabin. the views are incredible.

Very modern hotel in the town of Takachiho. Very clean and quiet, The size of the double room is bigger than those in the city, so this is greatly appreciated! We really had a long day exploring Aso/Takachiho and coming back to the hotel to rest was such a treat.
