This is our 7th visit in Nagoya. We never fail to include this in our itinerary everytime we are in Japan. It's not too crowded and a bit laid back, compared to other cities in Japan. There's always an interesting spot to visit.

So many great food like tebasaki, hitsumabushi, and misokatsu! Lots to do around like Ghibli Park, Legoland, museums, and so many stores. If you want to go to Japan but want to avoid the tourists, I recommend Nagoya.

Greta city, especially for families.
Greta city, especially for families. It has lots to see and do - from the modern attractions, to historical and cultural ones. It's easy to navigate and while there are some tourists around, it's not crazy-busy like Tokyo or Osaka.

Nagoya is laid back and the sight seeing spots are near each other. I especially liked the Honmaru Palace of the Nagoya Castle and the Tokugawa Garden. The Toyota Museum is educational. We would have liked to go to Ghibli Park but we were unable to buy the tickets two months in advance of our trip. Klook also provides many tours going to Shirakawago and Takayama if you can handle 3 hours on the bus going one way. Families with children will also enjoy Legoland and the Railway Museum.
There are many options for different kinds of shopping, whether going to the malls, second-hand shops, the outlets and Daiso/Don Quixote.
We tried Nagoya specialties such as misokatsu (pork cutlet with miso sauce), tebasaki chicken wings and uiro (sort of rice cakes). I liked the misokatsu but my family members found the flavor too strong.

We only stayed two nights in Nagoya because it connects many of the Shinkansen tracks, and because of the Ghibli Park. It's very easy to get to Tokyo, Takayama, Kyoto, Osaka, etc. from here.
The city is extremely large in terms of buildings and streets, and seems to be wealthy. Some parts of the city look very European/American, and it seems to have a large Chinese population. Sadly, we were too late to visit Nagoya castle and were only able to see it from afar, as the park closes at night.
We did, however, enjoy our brief visit to the camera store (we needed an SD card). Nagoya seems to be great for shopping, if that's your thing.

the hotel was located close to the train station and BIC camera, which made for convenient shopping. The libby was airy and spacious. The room was of decent size and clean.
Check in was a breeze, as the staff was very friendly and explained everything clearly. Check out was done at the terminal. Again, hassle free.
We could leave our luggage with the hotel after checking out , and collected them after a spot of sightseeing. As gain, the front desk staff was very helpful in explaining to us what trains we should take to get to Nagoya castle
The hotel is pretty new and very clean. Automated check-in/out with minimal contacts with the staffs. Staffs speaks Japanese but very helpful. Free breakfast provided has a good spread of varieties. Hotel provides free coffee, self serve at your convenience. Room was bigger than hotel in Tokyo, comfortable bed and bathroom. Nagoya was snowing on one morning, it was beautiful. At Nagoya station, take the Taikoi-dori exit, turn right, cut through the construction site, cross the road and walk straight ahead.
The staff was super friendly and helpful, they were very patient in explaining to us the whole process of sending our luggage to our next hotel.
It's pretty close to the main Nagoya Station, fairly OK walk even with big luggage.
The room is not super spacious but we were aware of that, it would be just fine for people with smaller or less luggage.
The amenities were great, we could get as many as we wanted over at the reception and it had a bit of everything.
The location of the hotel was quite nice. It was close to utilise Airport Limousine and subway through Fushimi station. In addition, I can borrow an outlet adapter. There were some outlet adapters not only one so I can try what it fits on my belongings.
Value for money budget hotel.
The motel is located close to Nagoya Station. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
