Amazing. First of all, what surprised us the most was the food. We thought it was a low key dinner and breakfast (I don’t recall the listing emphasizing the meals) and ended up being the best kaiseki we’ve ever had (twice!). Admirably crafted and plates, and yet without a trace of pretentiousness. Forget about reserving 6 months in advance for a hyped up Michelin restaurant, this is the real thing. The building has been recently renovated, in a modern sukiya-zukuri style. The dedicated bath room with hot tub also works as a steam room, perfect after a day of hiking. Beds and robes were super comfy, and everything immaculately clean. We were treated to a selection of really good local beer. Lastly, this is a family owned and run establishment. The hosts were incredibly wholesome, attentive, and patient with our lack of Japanese.

Peaceful, Well-Located Mountain Retreat at Mount Mitake We had a great stay at this mountain house near Mount Mitake. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the train station, which made getting there and exploring the area very easy. The house itself is comfortable and well-equipped, with a cozy wood stove that we really enjoyed using in the evenings. The views from the property are beautiful, especially in the early morning and at sunset. It’s quiet, clean, and surrounded by nature, but still very accessible. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape from the city with great access to hiking and the mountains.

The location was absolutely perfect. We were visiting Japan for the first time from the USA and the staff was extremely accommodating and everyone in Ome was very kind.

Very comfortable and clean for our family's stay. Great atmosphere and vibe throughout the home. Very convenient location for hiking Mt Mitake. We loved the nice large bathtub as well. So nice to soak after a long day of hiking. It was equipped with everything you would need (including 3 prong plugs which my husband found useful for his laptop). A previous review stated there weren't curtains in one of the bedrooms, but that was remedied as there were nice shutters to use during our stay. We had a lovely stay and we would recommend it to others!

We went to spend the day on Mt Mitake. Couldn't find lodging at the top, so I picked this one. We are from the US, so we had no idea what we were doing. What a wonderful surprise. Free wine, sake, or cocktail to greet us at check-in. Also, other drinks. Lovely assortment of free snacks, too. The room was lovely Japanese style. Great onsen, and both traditional dinner and breakfast were superb. Can't say enough about what a lovely stay it was.

The property is well designed and very interesting. I felt at home right away. Everything we needed for our family of four was included. The high quality materials and furnishings were both beautiful and enjoyable. The hosts are very thoughtful and speak English well. They own a cafe near by. They were very accommodating!
