I booked a room at Gabaa Resort, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience despite the unexpected situation. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me find a reliable garage and get my car fixed promptly. The room was clean and comfortable, providing much-needed relaxation. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations. Though my stay was brief, the exceptional service and hospitality left a lasting impression. This is by far the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka so far! The place itself is outstanding, and the owners are absolutely wonderful. The bed was super comfortable, the room was spotlessly clean, and both the air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. We also loved the delicious breakfast and really appreciated having good hot water in the shower and absolutely no mosquitoes. A perfect stay!

Habarana is an ordinary local town not overwhelmed by tourists. It has all the faciltities you need and is much less crowded than places closer to Sigiriya and Dambulla. There is a good range of accommodation, and some lovely views from places just out of the centre of town.

I was only in Sri Lanka 12 days so could only stay 2 nights.

I was only in Sri Lanka 12 days so could only stay 2 nights. I would do 3 or 4 to see more of the archeological sites within a few hours and if you want to relax and slow the pace another night or two. It’s such a clean area, cleanest I’ve seen of Sri Lanka, and chilled and quiet vibes.

Habarana is a small town located at a crossroads and a main road. It is therefore very accessible to other important cities, such as Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, etc. As well as to the natural parks, which are located nearby. Public transport is perfectly provided. The town has the necessary facilities such as shops, a bank, a post office, a doctor, etc. The beautiful surrounding nature, and easily accessible lakes, are also an advantage.

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants...

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

It was our first two nights in Sri Lanka and the hospitality we had from the hotel owner was amazing, his wife served us very good Sri Lanka food which we found out that we have the best breakfast and dinner in the city. The room was comfortable and Kalhala tried his best to make us happy during our stay, the location is near by all Sigiria attractions, we loved so much.

The staff are amazing and make this hotel which only had 3 cabins extra special .loved the uniqueness of the property and the outside bathroom was a novelty. The staff are so helpful anything you want arranged they do and the food she makes is great - best meal we had in habarana . The view is simply breathtaking and the wildlife around you is stunning

Everything was perfect. We enjoyed the Tree House with pool. Lovely view of the garden area and lovely food to some great prices. Staff was very kind, helpfull and serviceminded. The Tree House was very clean and the open bathroom was so nice. If you are in this area you should stay here. Huge recommendation.
