Dihya desert camp is located in Merzouga and has a garden and barbecue facilities. There's a terrace and guests can use free WiFi and free private parking.

My two-day stay at Dihya Desert was nothing short of delightful. Nestled beside the sand dunes, the campsite boasts a serene and picturesque atmosphere. The tents are generously spacious and furnished with all the amenities you'd expect in a hotel room, including private bathrooms and toilets. Stepping outside, you're immediately greeted by the warm sand of the desert beneath your feet. I had the pleasure of partaking in a camel ride and jeep safari, with the former at sunset being an absolute must-do. The food and tea were delicious, and the staff's exceptional warmth and helpfulness truly impressed me. A charming heart-shaped swing positioned beside the tents was a thoughtful touch. All in all, Dihya Desert is an extraordinary retreat for those seeking to relish in the desert's striking beauty

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Nasser Palace in Merzouga during my trip to Morocco. My partner and I traveled by motorcycle all the way from Marrakech to Dades and finally to Merzouga. The journey was breathtaking, and upon reaching the hotel, we were delighted to find a parking area right at the premises. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff at Nasser Palace. They were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, always ready to assist with any requests or questions we had. Their hospitality made us feel right at home. One highlight of our visit was the delightful dinner provided by the hotel. The local musical ambiance added a special touch to the evening, making it a truly unique and enjoyable experience. In summary, we highly recommend Nasser Palace as an excellent place to stay in Merzouga. The friendly and attentive staff, along with the charming atmosphere and great amenities, made our trip truly remarkable. Merzouga is a desert town principally set up to offer a desert experience and trips into the Sahara. There are limited food and 'tourist' shops and a number of restauarants (although we didn't use these). Our hosts at Auberge Les Roches catered for all our needs and desert experience.

    Amazing place, worth visiting!

Amazing place, worth visiting! Despite being a touristic place, it didn't feel crowded. The region is incredible particularly if you're a fan of extreme environment, and a fossil/archeology/geology nerd! Concerning the environmental impact of tourism there, it's hard to tell: it seemed to me that although many fun activities there are not exactly environment-friendly, activities are mostly concentrated in a small area. I also recommend visiting the place between November and April. In April, temperatures were already unbearable at the height of the day, and a couple degrees more at night would be too warm to sleep comfortably. It would be fun to come back exploring more of the fossil sites, and maybe do a 1 week trek in the dunes!

Merzouga is the end of the line.

Merzouga is the end of the line. It is a long five hour drive down from Ourazazate which was our departure point and it was nearly nine hours back to Marrakesh. It won't always be so long, there are extensive roadworks underway in the Atlas moutains which added to our journey time but which will significantly reduce driving times when they are completed in 2024/25. Is it worth the trip? Yes it is but there is a proviso. Travellers should really take the time out before travelling to wok out their route and what they want to see on the way. Morocco might seem a bit like a geographical equivalent to a Wagner opera; lots of tedium with really intense, exciting high points. This can be alleviated by a little bit of research. There are real gems along the way to be discovered but they all add time to a long drive. We were really glad to arrive at out hotel and were luck enough to be directed to Jordi and Naima's bar buy our hotel hosts where we were able to reward ourselves with a cool beer and soem egg and chips after a long and trying drive. The good thing about arriving is that it is differen, the dunes are amazing and you might genuinely feel that you have really traveled and put in the effort to visit somewhere off the beaten track.

Nice place to get a taste of the desert.

Nice place to get a taste of the desert. People there are very nice but the treatment that they give to camels is dreadful. The erg is not that big so you can easily walk to the camp or go by jeep instead of promoting the use of camels and, therefore, animal cruelty.

Wauw wauw wauw what a beautiful camp! I think it is more beautiful and hygienic than the most hotels I visited this year. Beautiful and very comfortable beds and especially the smell when you walk into the tent. It was like we walked into a perfume shop but then for very soft fragrances. The staff were super friendly and kind. And the meals were very delicious! We loved it very much and hope to visit it another year. Not to forget, our gide Mustafa was so kind and helpful! Definitely worth more than 5 stars!

Everything was perfect, we felt like home, surrounded by the desert and our new Berber family. Addi was taking care of us and was very helpful with every request we had. Wi-fi was (most of the time) good enough for video calls, but Maroc Telecom has 4G coverage in that area, so we were able to stay online quite comfortably. Breakfasts and dinners were huge! We spent 6 nights here, and will come back again for at least month, Inshallah ❤️ Best experience in Morocco so far. Tanmert!

Probably the prettiest room we stayed in Morocco. Property well maintained, clean and impeccably decorated, including the outdoor dining space. Dining - both breakfast and dinner were outstanding. The location is a short walk to the dune for sunset. I also booked a camel ride ( you could probably do ATV too) by simply walking a short ways to where the camels are kept. parking at the hotel is shaded. I highly recommend staying here.

One of the reasons why we traveled to Morocco was to experience the Tented Camp in the Sahara Desert. Since the weather was overcast the evening we arrived, we were unable to view the sunset. The next morning, Hassan took us for a ride through the sand dunes on his 4x4 which was exiciting and a highlight of our adventure. The staff were kind & very accommodating.
