The cottage is in the garden of a family house where the owners live. They were absolutely wonderful and were eager to accommodate everyone. There was no problem understanding English. The breakfasts, which are included in the price, as well as the dinners, which are paid for, were absolutely fabulous and practically made from home-made ingredients. They have a small farm there, their own vegetables, eggs, milk from cows. They take amazing care of everything, as well as their guests. Since it is on the PoB route, most guests only stay there for one evening. We spent a perfect 4 days there.

Really wonderful family running the place and nice rooms. The bathroom was spacious and clean. We also really liked the dinner, one of the best we had during the PoB trail! Location was also conveniently in the town.

I had a wonderful one-night stay with my wife. The rooms were impeccably clean, the owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

Lovely guesthouse with a wonderful family running it. Able to help you with hikes and logistics in the area. Not really on the peak of Balkans trail but not too far from it. Had some complications with other guests, not the fault of the family, and they were kind enough to provide me a packed lunch for my hike on the house.

This property is new to Booking but don't let that scare you, it's an amazing option for lodging in Vusanje. The owner/host is super friendly and you can tell he's dedicated to making his property one of the best in the area. He built 5-6 brand new cabins on his property, each is well constructed and has everything you'd need for your stay. He even built a covered sitting area with picnic tables, which was a really nice tough. He also has a mini bar in the cabins, which makes it easy to get a beer after a long hike on the POB. And the mini bar items are super affordable.

We stayed here while hiking Peaks of Balkans and this was one of the best places we stayed! Owner/chef Deli was a big highlight, his food was genuinely delicious and he was so friendly. And the rooms/bathrooms are newly renovated and incredibly clean and modern, with A/C too. They just opened this guest house a few weeks ago, so don’t be deterred by the number of reviews. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Vusanje is one of the most beautiful places I have ever...

Vusanje is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The breathtaking mountains, crystal-clear rivers, and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect destination to relax and enjoy nature. The local people are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I can’t wait to come back. I highly recommend visiting Vusanje and staying at Highland Guest House for an unforgettable experience.

Vusanje is beautifully located in the border between Albania...

Vusanje is beautifully located in the border between Albania and Monte Negro, serving as a gateway to the Alps, with various trails suitable for long, medium, or short hikes of different difficulty levels. It is also close to the towns of Plav and Gusinje, where visitors can enjoy rich natural landscapes and attractions such as the stunning Lake Hrid.

We went there to hike Prokletije mountains.

We went there to hike Prokletije mountains. Usually we use small tents for camping so this was a huge step up in comfort. Prokletije offer so many trails and 5 days was just to get the taste. The area is going through this tourist transformation phase and will be more and more crowded with time, but you still can get authentic people, spontaneity and sincerity in abundance. In my book: in the league of Alps for the fraction of the price with a lot of extras.

I had a wonderful time in Vusanje!

I had a wonderful time in Vusanje! The village is surrounded by stunning mountains and nature everywhere you look. The people were so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing—fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. I can’t wait to visit again!

We had a wonderful stay, the family who run Riverside were so kind & helpful. The cabin/bungalow was very clean, small yet well designed & laid out. Perfect - excellent value for money. Delicious home cooked food including home grown veg, & fresh trout straight from the pond. I want to return !
