Travelers who stayed in Veracruz near General Heriberto Jara Airport (VER) have said good things about Hotel Urbainn, Hotel Yes Inn Nuevo Veracruz, and Suites Lafragua.
Downtown central Mega Metropolis meaning very interesting Colonial structures. Safe easy to walk many parks beautiful Zocalo near malecon. Good transportation system taxis and buses. Short walk to Old Town lovely part of the city quieter more laid back. Many city tours available on trolleys which leave from the malecon. Comes alive in a very different way in the evening. Definitely visit the beaches Aquarium and other attractions booking.com offers great tours at great prices. Can be confusing walking around at first however once you learn which way the streets and avenues run it becomes easier and it's just fun to discover how intricate and complete this city is Interstate bus stations are very near Centro. A safe City however the markets in Old Town are huge and can be confusing common sense is always best in those places.
A rundown dirty city that isn't worth the praise it gets. The old city centre is pretty much abandoned and almost no shops/business there are open. SO it's a run down dumb of abandonment. A newer city center exists which has shops, around the Plaza las Americas area. Which is ok-ish. But also there. The city has nothing much to offer but the same shops as you'll find everywhere. Most attractions look abandoned and are in need of maintenance on the outside. Couldn't see the inside as everything was closed. I walked most of the Malecon whcih is ok. But most of the restaurants that should line it are closed or abandoned. So nothing much to do there either. But if you like seeing the sea and ships from the port and stuff that's fine I guess. The city aquarium is really nice and was a definite highlight of my stay. Lots of nice fish and huge aquariums with sharks and all kinds of sea creatures. They even have a bunch of penguins. The Andamar mall is nice and modern and by extension Plaza las Americas is right across the street and has a lot of shops as well. Both have decent foodcourts. Which is nice. Still, if I don't have to I would not visit Veracruz again.
Veracruz downtown is quaint and full of hidden jewels: great food, cold beer, warm people, relaxed mood. Gran cafe de la parroquia is the best of both Parroquia cafes. I preferred Café Andrade over Bola de Oro. Panadería París has way more variety than La especial. Meet (and greet) fishers at dusk at the end of El Malecon. Take your camera or phone and look for the oldest Colonial facade or the biggest inner jungle. Plan your visit to the aquarium for one or two hours, maybe four is you push it - not more than that. Afterwards, eat across the street - do not, I repeat, DO NOT walk along the beach looking for a place to eat. Three days and two nights were good enough for staying at downtown, walking around, half-day in the aquarium and enjoying the food and charm.
After coming from Mexico city we instantly loved Veracruz! We love the little town and the ambiance. They also have festivities during the weekends that makes the place so lively. Definitely worth the visit.
Veracruz is a beautiful place to visit for its history and beauty. There are many places to visit there to know how important Veracruz is in the history of Mexico. It is really a Most place to visit in Mexico.
Awesome place with friendly people. Great food and the best coffee in the whole country. A historical city full of stories and legends. The government has to improve the quality of the public services like urban equipment and street lighting.
Great wifi, comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom. Loved the body lotion they give you in the room. Room has coffee machine and they put you regular and decaffeinated coffee. Convenient parking on the ground level, it doesn't have much space, but they also have another parking lot right behind the hotel. We have stayed 3 times already and definitely will come again.
The staff were extremely kind and responsive to all of our needs. The hotel was beautiful, and very big! There are a lot of restaurants available in and around the hotel. The staff ensured our rooms were clean everyday. I couldn't have asked for a better stay during my time in Mexico!
This is great value for money for this place. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff in a great location. We got a balcony with an amazing view right by the cathedral that chimes throughout the day. Yes the hotel is a old but would definitely stay again.
I stayed here for several weeks. The location is excellent as it is attached to Plaza de las Americas and is across the street from Andamar mall. The frontdesk and restaurant staff were great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Included breakfast was amazing! Fresh coffee and food was awesome and the service of the staff was excellent, For sure the best service I have ever had in any Hotel (and trust me I have been in many over the world)
The location was excellent wgile just a walk across a backroad got you to beachfront. Absolutely beautiful views right from the hotel and the old spanish colonial style was truly stunning
Buffet breakfast was awesome. The Hotel s located close to beach zone and follows COVID19 regulations. Staff is very helpful. Highly recommended for family and couples.
more upscale rooms than typical Centro hotels (at double the price), privilege rooms included breakfast & dinner buffet. comfy beds, real pillows!
