Very clean and well organized, great location close to RDC. The building was new, well air conditioned, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The site was large and I saw wild birds and wild monkeys. In the early morning I saw more wild birds than RDC.

Really amazing place to stay near all of the sights in Sepilok. I chose to walk everywhere and it seemed to be in a pretty central location. Food was tasty and staff was friendly.

Everything was new, clean, and well organized - I was really impressed by the dorms and the amount of space in the room. The dorm bathroom was also large and clean. Amazing value and the location is a short walk to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. The breakfast buffet that is included in the price is quite good with a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. I had a really nice and comfortable stay - highly recommend!

Wow, this was just the best place to stay. The resort was comfortable and the food was very good. We walked to see the orangutans and the Discovery center. The front desk was excellent to arrange our tour to the proboscis monkeys and to the airport. You ask and they deliver. As birders, the grounds are exceptional for birding. We saw so many just off of our balcony. We had hot water and the secret is to just turn on the water until you hear the water heater engage. Worked perfect for us.

I feel good energy the moment i step on this resort. The place is huge and beautiful. You can tell that every part of the resort is planned properly. The staff very helpful and professional, the dorm and sharing bathroom are clean and the food at the restaurant are delicious. The main reason i book this resort is because of the location. It took 3 minutes to walk to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center. Beautiful walk too. I definitely will stay here again in the future.

Hotel was near the airport, we needed to stay in an area near the airport and close to the Sepilok Sanctuary, it was perfect for a night and the restaurant across the street was also very nice and clean.

    Only a 20 minute ride from Sandakan Airport so it’s...

    Only a 20 minute ride from Sandakan Airport so it’s worthwhile checking out for the day. There is only about 1 whole days worth of activities in the area I.e. the Orangutan Center, the Sun Bear center and then the rainforest discovery Center. I probably wouldn’t recommend more than 1 day in this area unless you want to do some of the extensive forest and mangrove walls that are at the rainforest discovery Center - but they’re more for the dry season rather than the rainy season. I strongly do NOT recommend the probiscus sanctuary back in Sandakan as it’s more of a single species zoo only - it’s much better to get out to the nearby Kandabangan River Area

    The only reason to stay a night is to ensure you get to the...

    The only reason to stay a night is to ensure you get to the Orang Utan reserve just after 9am (let the initial queue go down) to watch the 10am feeding. Otherwise, stay elsewhere and drive to the reserve/get a Grab/bus it, and watch the 3pm feed, and then go back to your hotel.

    I enjoyed Sepilok very much!

    I enjoyed Sepilok very much! I was amazed by the facilities at the RDC, the orangutan, and the sun bear reserve. It is friendly for both children and the elderly. The staff are very friendly. My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves, especially during the night safari. Our rangers did their best to help us spot the animals. I will definitely recommend that my friends visit Sepilok—what a gem in Malaysia!

    Sepilok is a must if in Borneo.

    Sepilok is a must if in Borneo. The Rainforest Discovery centre is incredible, especially the night walk, as is the Orangutan rehabilitation centre and the Kinabatangan River half-day cruise. There’s also a Sun bear sanctuary, which we are hoping to visit.

    There are plenty of things to do in and around Sepilok, like the Orang Utan sanctuary, Proboscis monkeys, sun bears and Rainforest Discovery Centre. It is also a great hub for trips to Kinabatangan River or the islands off Sandakan where you can watch sea turtles nesting. All tour operators seem to provide pick-up and drop-off from Sepilok.

    There are quite a few things to do in Sepilok.

    There are quite a few things to do in Sepilok. I will start with the most famous attraction: the Orang Utan Sanctuary. It was the 2nd time we visited, the first time was in 2021. Definitely more tourists now. There are 2 feeding times and because I wanted to take pictures, stayed near the feeding platform before 10am to get a good spot whilst all the tourists went to watch the feeding at the nursery. The nursery is good as you are guaranteed to see the Orang utans, but you see them behind glass, which gives a bit of a zoo feel. The feeding platform is great as you never know how many, or even if, the Orang Utans are coming. We saw 5 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon. We only saw 3 the next morning. If you have a big lens on your camera, the rule is if you have a fixed lens over 400mm, then you have to pay RM 1000. If you have a telephoto lens, it is only RM10. I brought my 150-600mm telephoto for RM10 without problems. The bear sanctuary. Good for education and conservation but it is a zoo, with the bears in enclosures. Another great attraction is the canopy walk. Bring plenty of water but the trails are great. they also organise night walks (no flash allowed) and the guides are very knowledgeable. Finally, Labuk bay is not far and is great if you want to see proboscis monkeys up close. This time, we were treated to a troup of silver leaf monkeys coming to say hello as well. The fact that they feed the monkeys with bread is definitely debatable, but the monkeys are free to come and go as they please.

    Best place I have ever stayed. This was the most amazing experience. The rooms had a balcony and you could see the whole jungle, watch the animals and the sounds were beautiful. It was like a luxury jungle experience. The common area was also lovely! Met lots of other travellers and the food was exceptional. The staff were also so friendly! The shuttle is great, goes to sepilok and picks you up. This was by far better than any of the other resorts by the centres. I will deffo go back.

    Everything. The surroundings are stunning. The staff is exceptional. A special thanks to Izzy who organised a one-day trip down the Kinabatagan river (275 myr) - very cheap compared to other operators. 5mins to Orangutan rehabilitation centre and sun bear conservation centre.

    Location was walking distance to the sunbear conservation and orangutan rehabilitation centres which are next to each other. it’s also near the Rainforest Development Centre. Service at the B&B was very good. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help.
