Breakfast was well thought out with adequate choice. Loved the fire in the dining room. Made you forget the icy morning outside. Dinner waitress was so efficient and warm. And the soup and fresh bread was divine. The view of the sunrise from the dining room was exquisite. The room was so spacious and so comfortable. and warmed for my check in.

    The proximity to the workshop venue (NAMFISA) and also to the mall. The shopping experience was fabulous, and I also found most Namibians to be warm and friendly. Windhoek is a great city, historically rich too!

    InDrive in Windhoek makes getting round very easy.

    InDrive in Windhoek makes getting round very easy. However the location markers seem tricky - either drivers can't find you or the time indicated in the App is not correct. Ordering food ahead and going to collect at restaurants made evenings after work very easy. The Col'cacchio restaurant at Grove Mall had a fabulous view of the setting sun over drinks or dinner. Loved that aspect! Grove Mall has everything you would need by the way.

    Easy to get around as InDrive worked well and no traffic congestion in the mornings. InDrive satellites not accurate for wait times and exact pick up location at times. Be prepared to add a message on exact pick up location. Super clean and very tidy city. Guest houses offer good rates and facilities to counter the pricey hotels. Great choice of restaurants around, especially at Grove Mall near my hotel. Colcacchio has an incredible view of the panoramic sunset skyline - beautiful. Their bar is also well stocked and great choice of wine. The Indian restaurant at Grove served great meals to go and at affordable prices.

    One of the most clean city in the world. Peaceful and welcoming people with modern facilities and infrastructure. Beautiful restaurants and the best beer in the world. You would certainly want to visit again.

    Windhoek is a great, small African city.

    Windhoek is a great, small African city. It's easy to navigate through if you know just a few key roads, the people are friendly (but they will try to squeeze a bit extra from a foreigner, so just be shrewd), and it's safe. I say this as one coming from South Africa, but it is a lovely, clean African city. Namibia is a country filled with unique things to see, so try to get out beyond Windhoek if you're able.

    A beautiful small city.

    A beautiful small city. A few things to explore around the city. We stayed at the Windhoek Gardens Boutique Hotel - was stunning and definitely recommended. Highlights of places visited: - Joe's Beer House - quirky decor, huge beer house and restaurant. Great food: German-Namibian fusion, tried Zebra steak for the first time. But ribs weren't much to be desired. - GoodFellas restaurant - great atmosphere and ambience, fair prices and amazing food especially Alfredo pasta! - Taxi rank - we visited a taxi rank at Wernhill mall, walked around the local market - bought flip flops, local eats - fried fish, vetkoek and pop-corn which were delicious! Lowlights of places visited: - National Botanical Gardens - very disappointing, not much plants or flowers, just same bush trees around the park. An opposite of botanical honestly - National Art Gallery of Namibia - some nice art but very scarce - few pieces and only by 2/3 artists and it's supposedly representing the whole Nation of Namibia. - The Brewers Market - not much of a market, 01 bar/restaurant with flies and dirty floors. Curio market - downtown - much curio art to see, but was crowded with tourists (we went off season - end April). - Namibian's are not generally friendly and welcoming - and this was an experience across the whole country

    Quiet, clean, private, spacious, well maintained and brilliant host. Everything had been considered ahead of our arrival to ensure that we didn’t want for anything whilst we were staying in Windhoek. The location is good if you want to be tucked away a little out of the city and is only a 5 minute walk to the Heinitzburg Hotel which has an incredible view of the sunset over the city. We really appreciated having our own washing machine and a very well equipped kitchen so that we could cook for ourselves most days.

    Nice building, inside the decoration of the hotel is very unique, in your room you have a tv, fridge, kettle. It is quiet, safe. You can book this guesthouse if you don t want to stay in windhoek city center and have a rest. I thank you the young lady at the reception who cleaned my shower however it was not her job. She was very kind, professionnal lady. The bar is open until 10 pm.
