If you've got the impression that a Bora Bora escape requires shelling out around $2500 per night for a hotel, let me reassure you—it's not the case. Our five-night stay at Royal Bora Bora was a genuine delight. The place is impeccably clean, the rooms offer cozy comfort, and the lush interior garden adds a touch of tropical luxury. Conveniently situated right on the beach, next to the former Sofitel Bora Bora, we were welcomed at reception with a charming floral garland. They even handed us cards for a beach towel and snorkeling gear, sparing us the trouble of packing those essentials. We snagged a deal at $240 per night, inclusive of breakfast, thanks to a reservation on Booking. Plus, being right on the beach, Royal Bora Bora made our stay both affordable and incredibly enjoyable. It's proof that you can have a fantastic Bora Bora experience without breaking the bank. Also, the hotel is close to restaurants and the breathtaking Matira Public Beach. If you're feeling like indulging in a luxurious hotel experience, consider opting for a day pass at renowned establishments such as St. Regis, Intercontinental Thalasso, Intercontinental Le Moana, Four Seasons, and Le Bora Bora. The host are very kind, helpfull and gave us a lot of advices about their island. Stay in a place own and run by natives from Bora Bora is definitely a big advantage.For sure we will stay there on a futur stay with the whole family.The breakfast met our expectation. The fruits from the garden and the jam made out of the fruit from the garden are just delicious. We took all our breakfast by the pool and it was very pleasant.

The hosts were so special, the rental has the amenities and facilities you need. Breakfast was excellent, he gave us a nice tour of the sacred sites that are in the neighborhood and also a special gift from tiki house that we’ll keep forever.

Everything!!! The most beautiful place we stayed at ever. It was our honeymoon and I'm so glad we left Bora Bora and Four Seasons for the end of the trip as it was the cherry on top. We were also surprised by an upgrade to a bungalow with the private pool🤩 we already planning to come back one day :)

The staff is amazing! Everybody is so nice! The resort is simple and relatively small, but also very cozy! The beach in front of it is one of the most beautiful ones in the entire island! Crystal clear blue water. The prices of food and beverages are good and there are a few other options of restaurants really close to the resort. My husband and I spent 8 days there and loved each one of them!

Everything! Truly an incredible, once in a lifetime experience! Akane was so attentive to our needs as were all of the staff. It was so nice to be able to take a golf cart to our events in the main part of the resort. The bungalow was out of this world. We loved all the incense and decided to take home a whole big bottle of the Coqui Coqui. The view was incredible, the fish were colorful and the experience was nothing short of inspiring. I can't recommend this place enough. My wife and I look back with tears of happy, happy joy.

    Bora Bora is a slice of paradise. We rented a scooter for a day and saw the whole island. What was best was Rudolph at H2O was an amazing tour guide. Well worth the money. The waters are amazing colours and warm. Temperature perfect. People were nice and friendly. Had some great meals.

    Our favourite place was on the lagoon.

    Our favourite place was on the lagoon. We hired a pontoon boat and spent a day on the water, one of the best experiences was snorkelling, swimming and relaxing. It was great. Lots of different fish, coral gardens and many sea life. Water was crystal clear and vibrantly blues and greens. Views were endless. Swam at Matira Beach. Wish I could go back there. Restaurants were good and plentiful - we ate at Lucky House and Maitai Restaurants.

    Going to Matira Beach is a must.

    Going to Matira Beach is a must. Have a drink or sunset at the Bora Bora Beach Club that's right on the beach. Go on a boat tour to a Motu (an islet) and snorkeling (ask for DiDi the boat captain).

    The resort had great amenities, the pool and beach area around the lagoon were great! Very relaxing vacation. Definitely, book some excursions the snorkeling and sunset dinner cruise were our favorites.

    Biking around the island was the right approach.

    Biking around the island was the right approach. Really no need for a rental car. We really liked eating at the Roulottes (food trucks), excellent seafood (the poisson cru is to die for!). Note that portions are large - we learned after the first time and starting sharing one portion; more than enough food for 2-3 people. We also found getting meals from the supermarket was a good way to go. They have a number of cold meals prepared (including excellent sashimi). Can recommend doing at least one lagoon tour. Snorkling is some of the best we have ever done.

    Bora Bora itself is a bit of a dive.

    Bora Bora itself is a bit of a dive. Their saving grace is that the water is amazing on a good day. Not much to see or do on the land. Infrastructure is really poor. The boat ride to and from the airport is a highlight. Clearly the government is not supporting this area's infrastructure which will in turn support the locals in providing for tourism and for themselves. Roading and facilities are run down and in poor condition. All the action is on the water. Vaitape is the main village and even that is not much. Just really expensive/overpriced tourist shops. The little market inside at the boat terminal is quite good but only take cash, and the Tahitian busking band playing outside the market is great. It was absolutely pouring with rain the day we arrived, so we lost a whole day due to bad weather. Actually, it wasn't even that warm when it did fine up. We rescheduled the back end of our holiday to stay in Bora Bora an extra day to hopefully get some good weather and do something on the water.
