United StatesThis bungalow is very small but had everything we needed. We became more and more enamored with spending time there over our two-day stay. The outdoor space - beyond the double-wide opening sliding glass doors, as shown in Frederique's cover photo, is very inviting. It faces nearly due north, so it had decent shade all day, making it very usable.
The constant sound of the ocean's waves was very soothing. Also, the breeze was strong most all day, which keeps the mosquitoes away. Outdoors on the deck is really the bungalow's only place to eat, but why would you want to be indoors when this is an option? The ocean view is lovely.
The outdoor shower was a really nice and unique feature.
Frederique was readily available via the booking.com messaging and in person when she was at home. She made sure we had everything we needed and got us a couple of extra towels to take to the beach.
We enjoyed the Motu Grill next door - nice staff, great food (although mosquitoes were biting and we had to go back to the bungalow for our Off spray). At the bungalow, though, we never used any spray or the mosquito net over the bed. As long as the doors were open while there was wind blowing, we think the mosquitoes were kept at bay.
We would love to return to Ocean Side and will recommend it to others.
Photos: 1) cute, harmless geckos find their ways into homes on Mo'orea. 2 & 3) beach at the bungalow is very wc nic but not a swimming beach, although you could wade out a bit. We saw interesting long slender fish there. The beach all along there up to the public beach, about a mile to the right from the bungalow, is mostly coral pieces. Walkable with shoes but not an easy walk.
