I used to live here. So I may be a little biased, but I love Dauin. It's a central hub for all things in the Visayas region: Apo Island, Siquijor, transportation to Dumaguete and Cebu, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. The people are wonderful, and there are even a couple extra hangout spots after a long day of being away from the hotel room. Please stop at the market to try filipino delicacies and foods. It's a necessary experience. Shot out to Rosalinda restaurant next to El Dorado. The food there is great!
Its a provincial area but there's no tricyle available in the area nearby, that you have to walk that far so you can buy food, drinks etc.You should put up stores/restaurant in the place, so that more tourists like me would love to stay in the area.
Checking in Darphin's Guesthouse was an excellent decision. The owners suggested places to go. Dauin's beaches are excellent spots for snorkelling. The were variety of fishes we even saw a stonefish. (be careful ). There was a "City of Corals" because there were lots of corals in different sizes, colors and kindss. ( PLEASE DON'T FEED THE FISH, YOU DON'T HAVE THEY ARE ON SHALLOW AREAS.) We saw waterfalls and hot springs. We pay for entrance fee on one place but the other one was totally free and NO people at all. We also passed by a volcano and saw the sulfuric gas coming out from it. Dauin is a highly recommended place to visit, please just take good care of the environment and not abuse it.
I was skeptical in visiting Dauin but its just very nice and exquisite. I literally fell in love with APO Island.. I will definitely go back there - truly a natural sanctuary - very in touch with the nature ☺️
Beautiful resort, very clean, great pool, staff very helpful and great food. Nothing was a problem. I would highly recommend this resort. Only one thing, it is a long way from the town centre, you have to have transport, but that isn't a problem.
We enjoyed daunin it was a vary nice place we were lucky enough to be there when the festivals we're going on and enjoy the music and the dancing and the market vary friendly people everywhere we went
We had an amazing stay here. Mr. Bong was really welcoming and so kind. The place itself is really new and super clean, best room we have had in the Philippines. Mr. Bong reminded us of a caring parent during our stay always making sure we were treated fairly by everyone around and knowing where to find what. Everything was available, from a nice bathroom and shower to beach towels and an umbrella was even handed to us when it rained.
The pool was above expectation. The building was a quaint colonial style. Great position on the beach. Restaurant menu could be more extensive, we chose to eat down the Beach. Breakfast was a good cooked breakfast.
The bungalow was nice. We really enjoyed the hammocks in front of the bungalow. It is really nice to be in front of the beach. The staff were gentle. Also the snorkeling tour at apo island was nice but too expensive.
Nice ambiance, quiet at the dorm room. Near to small eateries and walking distance to the beach. They also have fun activities. Nice staff! Highly recommended!
the hotel is super pretty but they really should do something with the deferred maintenance. the bed is good. the room was quite clean.
Great value, very nice room and clean. Nice staff. I really enjoyed staying there. The best place I stayed in the Philippines.

Awesome staff and place. Big rooms. Great beach and a good walk to the sanctuary. I would love to come back.
