Great location in a central area, with bars and restaurants nearby. Staff was great, and the room was excellent. I had friends staying in a hotel very near by, and this room was far better than theirs!

Tucked between the practical and the poetic, this hotel-albergue hybrid delivers comfort without the frills, and yet somehow still hits the mark. No Camino spirit to speak of—more IKEA than incense—but what it lacks in pilgrim romance, it makes up for with quality. The beds? Best I’ve had on the Camino. Real sheets, real towels, and a comforter that made me feel briefly human again. The rooftop kitchen and seating area is the secret charm here—sunset tea or post-laundry wine with a view. Efficient, clean, friendly, and all the boxes checked. A splash of Camino art on the walls would breathe life into the place. But for now, it’s a fine stop to catch your breath and sleep like a saint.

The staff are amazing! My workplace has a motto that must apply here too: nothing is someone else's job. Everyone was always on pitching in helping each other take care of this wonderful little property. And breakfast. Do NOT skip breakfast, it is worth every cento.

I liked having free parking, so thank you! Breakfast was nice and there were a lot of choices, or at least I thought so. I was happy with ample availability of coffee, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, and a selection of fresh bread.

    The location was brilliant, in the centre of São João da Madeira, and right on the Caminho Santiago. The housekeeper was there when I arrived and made entry super easy, and she explained everything clearly. She was brilliant. The room was exceptional. There are kitchen facilities and a rooftop terrace. I would highly recommend this place.

    It was a wonderful stay, the architecture of the building is realy worth praising, most modern hotels are boring, this one is not! It looks and feels luxurious. Beautiful staircase and night lighting made it look not just modern but kinda futuristic.
