Hotel in Selçuk
This family-run hotel in Selçuk features a rooftop terrace overlooking the Citadel of Ayasuluk. All bathrooms are renovated in 2019. The location of the hotel is excellent and it's very close to the train/metro station and about five minutes' walking distance from the bus terminal (otogar). Our comfort w/balcony room was very clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the streets below us, while enjoying the sun during the day or having a beer in the evening. Breakfast is delicious and they run a little cafe right in front of their lobby and the coffee tastes great too. The owner, Cüneyt, his brother and staff are extremely friendly and will help you out with anything you need. Plus, their hospitality is out of this world as they will treat everyone like they're part of their family! We were especially thankful and fortunate since Cüneyt provided us with information about a ballet concert festival at the Ancient Greek Theater in Ephesus, and being able to attend a concert in such a unique setting was one of the most memorable experiences we had. We loved everything about the hotel, the city, and the people of Selcuk! They are all so incredibly kind and welcoming.

Adam gave us so much time & guided us for our itinerary in selcuk! wish we had spent more than just 1 night in the wonderful hotel & owner !!

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, İbri Hotel is set in Selcuk, 1.6 mi from Church of Mary. Rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. This hotel is amazing! It has so much charm and character, the photos don’t do it justice, one of the few places you go and it’s better than online. Very comfortable, clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Also the breakfast was some of the best we’ve had here in Turkey. 5-10min walk from the main bus terminal and restaurants/shops were closer. Also next to the castle and the basilica. (If you are a Harry Potter fan, it reminded me of The Burrow, and had a cozy English cottage feel to it)

We visited Selcuk for one night to visit Ephesus and a friend staying locally. The town was lovely to walk through and easy to navigate. Ephesis was easy to get to, but the tour guide options were more challenging to navigate (beforehand). There are a couple of beautiful restaurants, so do your research. The taxis are a drag. Most have fixed fees but unclear what they include. One time we paid 100TL to go from Selcuk to the hotel, and the next taxi driver charged us 400TL to return. It was a 10-minute drive. Be aware that if you order a taxi to Ephesus, they may include the 'whole trip', whatever that means... Ephesus is worth the visit if you're into ancient history or faith-based movements. You will want to get the audio guide, a guided tour or look up a DIY one online. The Ephesus museum can be done in 45 - 1 hour if you are not a details person. Lots of well-curated objects but narrative and contextualising could do with some work. You might want to brush up on your periods before visiting.
Selcuk is a lovely place to visit. Close to many interesting and nice places to see. We ate mainly at local restaurants and also bought freshly baked borek from the bakery across the street from Ephesus Centrum. We walked around and travelled by rented car to places further. The bus station is centrally situated so using it should be quite easy. The only thing I would change on a next visit, is the length of time - I will stay for longer than 4 nights as there is so much more things I would like to see and do.
Ephesus was a lot of fun with Nazim, the tour guide from Apasas Travel. Good carpet companies in Selcuk - was able to see the women weavers in action, supported by the Turkish government. Lovely mosaics and pottery in the town. Taxis and minibus to Kusadasi and the seaside. Was able to pray in Isabey masjjd. Not a great variety of restaurants but it was nice to wander around at night. And our hotel Akanthus was an absolute gem.
Its a great ancient town full artefacts, beautiful streets with a view over to the mountains. Really cheap and locals are friendly and helpful. Also has great train and bus connection to move onto next destination. And a beach 😀
A charming town with plenty of restaurants, bistros and cafes. Ephesus and other Roman ruins including the temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world within walking distance from the town. A well connected bus station in the center of town. There is also a small railway station with train services to nearby places.
If you drive straight through Selcuk on the main road you will miss its interesting historic quarters. When I first visited Ephesus back in 2012 I was recommended to stay in Sirince, a small and pretty village up in the mountains via a hair-raising climb, but now very over-commercialised and crowded and not convenient for Ephesus. Selcuk has some really interesting historic parts and some lovely boutique hotels, and is so close to the historic site at Ephesus that it is better to stay there.

We just fell in love with this hotel and could not have been happier. Everything was perfect: the room we had on the last floor, not too big but very well decorated and cozy, with a little terrace and a great view over Selcuk. The staff was amazing, extremely kind, attentive and caring, and capable of preparing one of the two best breakfast we had in Turkey in three weeks of travelling. Not to forget the pool, which came very handy and delighted us after a day in the dusty ruins.

Perfect location in Selçuk to see archeological sites around town. As a matter of fact there's an archeological dig right across the hotel, which definitely adds to the atmosphere of staying in this area of Turkey. Breakfast was delicious, the owner of the property served it himself, making sure everything is right. He also dropped us off and picked us up at Ephesus, which was unexpected and a very appreciated gesture! Thanks again! :)
This place is extremely well decorated. Inner walls are covered with colorful plates and rugs, and also very nice tiles. Hotel has a very nice little pool between its two main buildings. Garden’s roof is covered vines. Staff is very helpful, arranged a great guide for our Ephesus visit. Don’t think further. This is the place to stay in Selçuk.
Best of all would have to be the staff - so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble! The breakfast was the best we've had while travelling in Turkey. The triple room/bathroom was perhaps a bit small for 3 adults, but the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for showers. The location was fantastic.

Best breakfast we had in Turkey! Ali and his wife are lovely hosts, they really go out of their way to improve your experience in town. The restaurant Ali owns is amazing and cheap as well. Room was very nice and comfortable, had a traditional vibe to it. Well located in town. Definitely recommend.
One of our best stays in Turkey! Tastefully decorated and spacious room, with a modern bathroom. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Good location, walking distance from interesting sights like the museum and St John basilica. Ephesus is an easy 10 minutes drive away.
