The best part is the river-side walking path with lots of trees and benches. Downtown walking district is also nice with some cafes, and you also need to visit the local market with ladies from neighboring villages selling their own handmade products, vegetables, milk, etc.
Nice laid back city, with harmonious mix of city life and nature. Not so much Ukrainian atmosphere, since the Carpathian mountains separate Uzghorod from the rest of the country. By the way, great Hungarian restaurant opposite the castle (only when the male chef is cooking) with quiet terrace during evening hours in summertime. Travelling to the rest of the country is only possible via Lviv and Kyiv. This should be considered. If you like travelling by car; beautiful scenery. If you travel by train; it will take you many hours through beautiful landscape.
The town is small and perfect. Very nice atmosphere both at day time and even better in the evening. Many nice shops and cafes. Prices are cheap compared to other Ukrainian cities. A very interesting museum of old ukrainian village and a castle.
A unique city in Ukraine, famous for its cozy streets with small buildings. Mild climate makes it a place for sakura trees and wines (you should definitely taste one if you're there). There is also a castle in the city and few more in the Uzhhorod region (Zakarapats'ka oblast'). There is lot of activities (like day trips) in the region, mainly focused on sightseeing (castles and their ruins) and mountain-related activities.
We stayed only one day in Uzhhorod — wish we’d planned at least 2 days or possibly 3. It’s a very pleasant and picturesque town for walking with lots of great architecture, and has many good restaurants. (We especially enjoyed the gourmet dishes at Kukhnya and the Georgian specialties at Khinkalnya.) The museum in the castle is interesting — we didn’t visit the open air museum (Skansen) next door, but just below is a small but very lovely botanical garden which had lots of flowers even in mid-October. The highlight of our stay was going to a truly delightful concert in the Philharmonic Hall — a beautiful former synagogue. If there’s something on when you’re there, be sure to go. (The tickets are 30uah or about 1 Euro!) The center of Uzhhorod is very compact — you can walk to everything in minutes. Just outside of town, don’t miss the Goryanskaya Rotunda (Church of St. Anne) about 2 miles SE to see the 12th century murals, in surprisingly good condition. If the church is locked, walk on the right side of the building and then straight ahead, stop at the first house on the right and ask the man with the key to open it. We’ve visited many nice towns in Ukraine, and Uzhhorod was one of the best. We hope to return, and next time we’ll stay longer!
A pleasant small city with beautiful parks, interesting architecture, a great castle that is now a nicely developed museum, other museums, and a few adequate restaurants. I have been there twice. The only downside is many of the people there. There are beggars and thieves everywhere, so be careful with your things at all times. Someone tried to take the sunglasses off my face (even though they are cheap sunglasses), someone else tried to steal my plastic bag with a bottle of water and snacks, and many people asked to borrow my phone (a scam to steal it). And many times every day, people quite aggressively asked for or demanded money. Workers are also quite unfriendly, especially to foreigners—waitresses and shop workers ignore customers, bus drivers lie about their route when asked, etc. It is unfortunate that a city that would otherwise be great for tourism has so many people that make a visit to the city so unpleasant.
We spent one night there. It is clean and stylish hotel right near the sports center. You can watch tennis right from you window. It is located in a quiet place with public parking near the entrance. You have 4 types of breakfast to choose. Uzhhororod’s breakfast was good but Israeli breakfast could be better. You can turn on the great music from 60’s in a sound system that looks like old radio receiver. Please create a playlist to share on Spotify!
This accommodation undoubtedly has its charm and exudes the spirit of history. The room was very spacious and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and in a pleasant environment. The staff was friendly and patient (I had problems with my credit card). Private parking. Proximity to the center, just opposite is the Uzhhorod castle.
The food at breakfast was excellent and by far and away exceeding expectations of a 3* hotel in Ukraine. Just a shame there were no clean crockery, utensils or tables to enjoy it. Nice view from the room across the river towards old town. Nice outdoor terrace. Big room with seating area.
Everytime we're in Uzhhorod we stay here. It's a beautiful hotel right in the center of everything, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the rooms and standards are completely western and first class for an incredibly fair price.
Uzhhorod
the stuff in the hostel is amazing. they tried their best to accommodate the needs of everyone who was escaping the eastern and central regions of Ukraine because of the started war. the hostel itself is clean, has everything you’d need
Uzhhorod

Uzhhorod
The staff were fabulous, the room was clean and modern, awesome pool with restaurant and bar, very close to the train station, and about a ten minute walk to the center of Uzhhorod and a little less to the castle.
clean, nice, modern hotel, in an excellent location (close to the bus station and to the train station). hotel cafe is great, a small shop right in the building.
Everything is just perfect - the entire hotel is falling apart and looks like it survived a zombie apocalypse, but that is just why i came there:)
I did not like single rooms, they are small and noisy but hotel management was kind enough to transfer me to double room and it was much better.
The location of hotel in superb, close to center and at the same time silent area. On site parking, good breakfast.

LOvely place.. in a lovely part of Ukraine.
The hotel is perfect for a short stay.
Modest accommodation at very reasonable price. Good to stay overnight if you travel to Slovakia in the morning. Staff was very attentive and nice, they even provided us with lunch box instead of breakfast, cause we were leaving early in the morning.
Very nice hotel near Ukraine/Slovakia border crossing. Best location to spend the night if you are driving to Europe. Restaurant there is also amazing, very much recommended
