Devon at the front desk was absolutely awesome. He had gone far and beyond to turn our stay around. Booking thru a 3rd party website, we did not get the room types that we booked. We had 5 rooms total and wanted 4 Kings and a queen double. When we arrived, they had the whole group in queen doubles. He worked some magic and was able to find 2 Kings. We had made mention that we were quite disappointed and would try the new Marriott property down the street. The hotel could use some tlc to things like new carpets in the hallways due to them looking dirty. Maybe even just try shampooing. Thanks to Devon, he flipped our stay 180° to make it better AND I booked again for next year through Devon. He had gone above and beyond to make the stay and return trip worthwhile. Again, a solhout out and thank you to Devon
The staff were helpful. I checked in and the room provided was clean and well put. The items provided in the bath was of better quality than most hotels. Liked the small snippets provided on each floor regarding historical references. Breakfast was good.
This place was a truck stop ! Warm/hot water not working. Called down in the morning. Person said she had other complaints to just run the water for 20 min. I did still no warm/ hot water. Unacceptable not being able to take a shower !
It’s a working class town but there are areas nearby that have lots of historical and beautiful sites to see. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping. Pay attention to your GPS as roads can be confusing and highways have construction. We spent most of our time in nearby McCungie.
Anywhere but Here!!! This is not going to be an honest review in terms of visiting so it's biased by all means. This is my hometown, so obviously I'm going to want to go anywhere by home in this case. However, if you're staying here for business, taking in a game or show at PPL Center or Coca Cola Park, or a little action at Dorney and Wildwater during the opened months; you'll want to stay clear and away from the center city district if possible. No joke. Poor parking conditions, and swervy neighborhoods even though there's been an aggressive up-turn of development in the downtown area and it is bringing business and results to the area, it's still not the best for lodging at the moment. Downtown Dining though is a ticket to check into. There is the Renaissance Hotel located next door to PPL Center. There are some good gems in town but just be aware that outside of that area, it gets sparse and questionable. I strongly recommend considering hotels just outside of the city on the outskirts a bit, if you're looking for great stays at great rates. If you're mode is upscale, then consider the Renaissance in town. As always, just be aware of your surroundings in the city as should be a "general best-practice" anywhere you travel that you may not be familiar with.
Attended DCI competition at Crum stadium. After the competition which ended late only Wawa was open for food. Their ham sandwich is amazing with lots of ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Will order from their again.
Allentown
The room was very dirty, the doorknob to the bathroom was broken, and both the air conditioning and the heat competed with each other. The heating took over and made the room uncomfortably hot for sleeping. The sheets had been changed and were clean, it is very close to the airport and extremely convenient.
Its super rachet, people smoking in non smokin rooms, very noisy, stinks its like a very cheap motel where anyone can afford it. Pool is nasty & everyone who stays there is super loud with so many kids running around bein loud. Horrible worst hotel of my life bad experience
Allentown
The Room was up today and clean! The bed was comfy for the amount of time we spent there. The hotel altogether was quiet BUT you can hear trucks driving by at some points if your room is on that side of the hotel.
This hotel was great. Friendly helpful staff, clean, quiet, fresh smell, fresh rooms, spacious rooms, good AC, hot breakfast, 24hr coffee, room temperature pool, clean pool, nice parking. No complaints.
The hotel was under renovation. The rooms could have definitely been a bit more upgraded. But overall it served its purpose. I was comfortable in the bed for the most part. The hotel was clean.
I did not eat the breakfast. Just had coffee. It looked perfectly fine from what I saw others eating. The room was nice size and comfortable.
The hotel is located near so many things to do and close to highway. Rooms were adequate. Staff was accommodating.
Room was spacious and facilities were great. Staff were helpful.
