The location is great. I've stayed here before and we really enjoy parking in the available lot and walking to everything around town. We usually eat out at our favorite Italian restaurant and walk back to the property by 10. The walk back felt very safe.

    We loved the Maritime Museum and the fact that you could...

    We loved the Maritime Museum and the fact that you could leave, go do something else, and then come back before they closed. We loved the walkability by the water and really enjoyed the scenery. We met a nice couple, who were volunteers, at the Finnish display by the Maritime Museum. They were very friendly and informative. Our trip was short so we definitely will be back.

    The beautiful scenery, I love water views the ocean, rivers lakes etc . We had views from all the windows in our hotel. The many good eating places. The light houses close by. The friendly people. Etc. We stayed at the Lloyd Hotel Bayfront. It was great , the breakfast the staff, the bed and pillows and the complimentary smoked chowder was really good too.

    Very interesting robust down town with lots to do.... Overall less of a tourist trap than Cannon Beach and Seaside. Lots of dining options and places to shop. Close enough to easily get to Fort Stevens, parks, & hiking

    Astoria, Oregon, is a charming riverside town that embraces its rich history and rugged character rather than polishing it away. As the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies, it’s full of vintage buildings, weathered piers, and Victorian homes that give it an authentic, lived-in feel. The walkable downtown is dotted with cute shops, cozy cafes, and seafood restaurants housed in historic storefronts—not sleek new developments. Astoria’s unpretentious vibe, scenic river views, and sense of place make it a delightful stop for anyone who appreciates a town with soul.

    Quaint little town packed with fun.

    Quaint little town packed with fun. Beautiful historical homes dotting the hillside. Don't miss the trolley and the Sunday Market. I enjoy visiting the public restroom on Exchange Street and reading the plaque about Clark Gable acting in the local theater many years ago. I love the fun trash can around town that look like cans of salmon.

    Astoria has a rich history of days past industries-fishing, shipping,logging,etc. Today's industry is tourism. There are lots of shops and places to eat for those visiting. The Columbia River Maritime Museum is in the heart of Astoria on the waterfront where one may tour the famous Lightship Columbia. While there are abundant places to stay we stay at The Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa. All rooms are waterfront.

    Spent a couple of nights here back in 2016, and came back because we liked it. Staff was very friendly, room wasn't too large but the nice view totally made up for that (all their rooms have marina view as well as a view towards the Astoria-Megler Bridge...). Room was very clean, there's a microwave as well as a fridge; the bed was comfy, bathroom nice. Pretty good above average breakfast as well. Great place overall, would stay here a third time, if we're ever back this way.

    In short, a spectacular destination hotel. Brilliant (and challenging) in its conception and execution. A flawless performance aesthetically, practically, and worth every penny. Hats off! In spite of being some 7000km away from the UK, hope to return some day.

    The hotel decor is gorgeous. It has style and history but is redone in a boutique feel. The location is central and hip. The bathrooms, though shared, are constantly cleaned and spotless. The kitchen is a convenient amenity. Staff are relaxed and friendly.
