This place is as beautiful as you could dream of. White sand , palm trees , blue ocean, a serene place . Due to misunderstanding on our side, we had canceled and rebooked a room, causing some issues on the guest list. Instead of causing inconvenience, the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The entire staff was super kind and welcoming. They are really good at taking care of their guests and making them feel extra special. The cottage was well kept; considering it was old construction, the view was heavenly, and the staff responded very well to customer accommodations. If anybody decides to visit Key West, staying at Parmer's is the way to go. We definitely know we will consider Parmer's as the top pick if ever to visit Key West again. Thank you!

The resort is beautiful, well maintained, white sands with coconut trees, nice beach (although relatively small), great pool and multiple smaller pool spread along the resort so it’s never too crowded, excellent pool bar that serves great cocktails and good food. There are fire tables and live music every evening and the atmosphere is serene. The on site restaurant (Mahina) is very good, offers excellent options. There are fire staff were welcoming and helpful, the room was very comfortable and spacious, equipped with coffee machine and minibar. The resort offers variety of activities- kayak, sap, jet ski, snorkeling, scuba diving… The location for us was great- it’s about 2/3 of the way from Miami to Key West so it’s not too far from either, very convenient drive to KW. Nearby the resort there’s a nice commercial center with supermarket and liquor store so it’s not too was great. Marathon itself isn’t very interesting and in my opinion there aren’t many things to do so if you’re looking for fancier stuff (restaurants, outlets etc.) you’ll have to drive a bit, which for us was fine since we stayed at the resort most of the time. To summarize- beautiful resort, peaceful, high quality, good service, great facilities, beautiful beach and pools, good food, picturesque, place for real vacation and relaxation.

What Guests Said About Big Pine Key:

Big Pine key is the equivalent of a locals restaurant.

Big Pine key is the equivalent of a locals restaurant. Not too flashy, not too expensive. 1/2 a dozen places to eat. A full size grocery store. All of 25 miles from Key west. Great fishing. Plenty of key deer. Just a nice laid back spot in the lower keys.

The lady at check in was very nice.

The lady at check in was very nice. The cottage was ok floors dirty and table clothe had rips in it the rest of the cottage was clean. The Deer was ever were would come right up to you. The reason for our rating the area had a bad sewer smell could not enjoy sitting outside because of the smell. Don't think we will be back unless they do something about the smell.

Beautiful spot in the middle of the Keys.

Beautiful spot in the middle of the Keys. Relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle of Key West but with enough things that you need such as some stores and restaurant. The Key Deer Refuge is great.

I forgot to mention the key deer that were all around.

I forgot to mention the key deer that were all around. It was always fun to see the, quite close to the houseboat. We were close enough to Key West, without the Key West prices. Oh and there's a good restaurant within walking distance, the No Name pub. Excellent pizza. Also go to see the Blue Hole, 10 minutes away.

Big Pine is a relative large, forested island which is not overly urbanized. It is the main habitat of the Key Deer. The Key Deer is a very small kind of deer which is perfectly adjusted to living in a small location. They are wondering around everywhere on the island including the highways. They are not afraid of people. You can drive around the island. I particularly enjoyed going to No Name Key which is connected by a bridge to Big Pine. I recommend a pub-restaurant the "No Name Pub." Sea food is very fresh. The restaurant is unique in that the walls and ceiling are covered in dollar bills that people have attached to the wall since 1936. (Reportedly, 90,000 dollars)

Quiet and quaint with nice view of the gulf. Friendly owner.

Quiet and quaint with nice view of the gulf. Friendly owner. Clean spacious room. Environmental conscious. About 50 minutes from Key West. Bikes and kayaks provided. I would recommend for those seeking Keys experience without the noisy crowds. Delightful Key Deer abound.

We stayed at Old Wooden Bridge Resort and Marina for two nights at Houseboat number 2. For party of four, two adults and two kids we had plenty of room and comfort. The houseboat was clean and comfortable, with two queen beds, some little extra space upstairs for kids with another queen bed, and futon sofa at living room /kitchen. Very simple accommodation in quiet side of Big Pine Key.

Breakfast was fantastic. Prices great and very friendly staff. The hotel was very convenient to all that we wanted to do. This was our second time there and we hope to come again next year. Unfortunately we left very early and forgot to leave a tip for the cleaning staff!!!
