Booth Bay Harbor is a beautiful place but be prepared for the high cost of dining and shops. If you are on a budget, the Duton’s Dog house at 40 Sea st. has great food. It is outdoors, casual with picnic tables. The food is very good from hot dogs to fresh seafood at a reasonable price. Hannaford’s grocery store at 180 Townsand Ave, Boothbay is on the main rd just before town. They have great prepared sandwiches, salads with dressings, nice fruit and anything you might need! Highly recommend taking the harbor cruise which is identified by mail delivery to Squirrel Island. It is lovely! Narrated and less expensive than others.

Great motel for the price.

Great motel for the price. Great location with free shuttle to downtown. Nice hot continental breakfast. We took a nice walk on the trails at Penny Lake Preserve next door. Did not use the pool, but it looked good.

I thought the location of Boothbay Harbor was superb, classic Maine - the people were helpful and friendly the food was spectacular . We visited the aquarium which was educational and perfect for young children and the afternoon at the Botanical Gardens was really wonderful. Our last dinner in Boothbay was at the Spruce Point Inn the food and location were a fitting end to our stay.

We enjoyed walking around Boothbay Harbor.

We enjoyed walking around Boothbay Harbor. We highly recommend the mussels as well as the lobster risotto at the Boathouse Bistro Tapas Bar and restaurant. Sit on the upper deck for a great view. We also had a delicious meal at the Ports of Italy. We recommend visiting the Maine Botanical Gardens and the Maritime Museum (in Bath). As we had limited time we took a short boat trip with Balmy Days to get a water view of the area. It was a nice, one-hour trip.

Downtown Boothbay harbor is tightly clustered around the harbor, making most of the area accessible by foot. Haven't really investigated the area yet, was there for a show at the opera house last year and currently, the botanical garden light show, we will be back to do more walking around as the area is quant and beautiful

Very nice and cosy place right on the harbor with its own pier to enjoy the morning coffee by the water. Hotel has been recently renovated and it shows high quality finishings. Great and attentive owners, highly recommended place for anyone travelling Highway 1.
