There are self-guided walking tours of the town to do, restaurants to enjoy, art guilds and galleries to spend time in, pleasant people to talk to wherever you go, and trips to surrounding areas to explore and then return to Brandon for a quiet night's sleep. I didn't like that there was not a guest elevator.
I didn't like that there was not a guest elevator. We did not like that there was not a TV. We were disappointed in the breakfast and the total lack of attention we were given at breakfast. Spacious and welcoming rooms, lobby and common spaces full of fascinating period details that make the place truly special. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. There is an elevator dating back to the early 1900s, which can only be operated by staff—a very understandable choice given its historic value.
